When I was little Santa brought a lot of gifts for us. My parents spent a certain dollar amount on each of us as we got older the presents were more expensive so we got less actual presents. But they were ALWAYS wrapped and put under the tree for us to open in the morning along with our stockings. I think that is part of the fun of Christmas morning for the kids. We also got a few things from Mom and Dad, socks, underwear and Pjs, every year. For my daughter she gets many presents from Santa that he will bring when she is sleeping. Nothing beats seeing her face Christmas morning with all the presents from Santa under the tree. We will also give her a few presents from us, but the big stuff comes from Santa. I think it all depends on how much you can afford as far as the number of presnts. Set a certain dollar amount for each child and go from there. I pick up little things here and there. I don't think I really spent all that much this year, but she does have a lot of presents however she is only 2.5 years old, so it is easier to find gifts that don't cost too much money. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

I'm like Sheri. In my house, Santa didn't wrap, and he brought one cool gift that each child really wanted. Everything else was from mom and dad and siblings gave to each other because it's all about the giving. It helps them learn to think about others.

My parents would wrap all the gifts for us (theirs and Santa's) and put them under the tree on Christmas Eve night. Typically, they gave my brother and I more gifts than Santa, but Santa's gifts were the "big" gifts, the ones we wanted most. Sometimes the Santa gifts were already set-up the night before Christmas, like my Barbie dream house or my bro's stereo with a big bow on it. But usually, they were wrapped.

Since it was more fun for my brother and I to tear open the gifts, mom would wrap everything and anything. Camera film, stickers, calendars, candy. It didn't have to be anything expensive, we just loved opening the gifts. Growing up, my brother and I had to have everything even (part of sibling rivalry!). It must have been hard for mom to keep the dollar amount and the quantity the same between us!

jaimi, santa doesn't wrap the gifts he brings. they just go under the tree with a name tag on them. our kids picked out things for each other as soon as they were old enough to ask to do it. sometimes they gave each other things they wanted. (my older son gave the younger son some poke mon cards. my daughter gave the boys books she was done reading. items are not always new but always new to the person.

As a kid, Santa came to our house while my brother and I were still awake and gave us our presents from him.

Now a days, Santa brings our kids 1 gift that they can use together (usually a sled or a game) and stuffs their stockings with candy and little things.

We give our kids 3 presents each (3 wisemen = 3 gifts) that way, we dont' overspend and get out of hand. They all come wrapped, but for us, Santa only wraps his prenents in Santa paper whereas our paper is anything but Santa paper. Our kids are 3&4 and they have not given eachother a gift yet. Maybe next year.
