If you watch all the Christmas TV show Santa never wraps his gifts because they were made in the North Pole by his elves.

When my daughter was little I would wrap the santa gifts in santa paper and the gifts from me in a different kind of paper.

We tried this when my oldest daughter was 14 months. She opened 2 gifts and then lost interest and we had to open the rest for her. If your 4 year old likes to open presents she will probably enjoy it. I think that most kids like getting up and seeing all that Santa has brought them without having to unwrap it. Also, you don't have to spend all that time and energy wrapping everything. Good luck and have a Merry Christmas.

We don't wrap Santa's gifts, but I think we're in the minority. When I was little my parents didn't wrap Santa, and it was like coming to my own private toy store that morning. So, we just wrap the presents from Mom and Dad.

When I was growing up, my mom always wrapped Santa gifts (except for big stuff like bikes or doll houses). Then I moved into my Dad and Stepmom's house at age 11 and she did not believe in wrapping Santa's gifts. I felt very weird about it, even though I was old enough not to believe anymore. I decided to wrap my kids' gifts and I think it makes it more exciting :)

Aww, You have to wrap them. Kids love that! I agree that unwrapping is half the fun for them, plus you get to wait in anticipation to see their faces when they open your gifts. I always thought it was weird that my mother had the same handwriting as Santa.....

I used to always wrap presents from Santa in a totally different wrapping paper. One of my sisters does the same. But, my other sister does not wrap the presents from Santa. After the kids go the sleep she adds the "Santa" presents unwrapped in front of the tree with all of the wrapped presents from one person to the other. That makes sense. Now that I think back it sure would have been much easier if I hadn't wrapped things.
Merry Christmas!

J., every year I wrap the gifts from Santa. I love the look on their faces when they rip into the paper to see what Santa brought them. They make a mess with the paper of course, but its worth it.

We always wrap Santa presents, but we wrap it in Santa paper. The rest of the presents are in other types of Christmas paper.

This is a Yankee/Southerner divided question. It appears from my friends our husbands that are Yankees have had all their presents wrapped from Santa everyyear. We southern belles on the other hand have always had it laid out and only presents from parents, grandparents, etc. were wrapped. It causes riffs every year between my husband and me. We have settled on large things like bikes, ride on, kitchens, etc are not wrapped. Smaller box shaped things are wrapped in special santa paper that is visably different than everything else under the tree. I dont think that the surprise of them opening is that great. My kids have more thrilled looks by the open things than the wrapped ones but it could just be that those are the big toys? All I can say is once you decide stick to you for consistency. Merry Christmas!!

When I was growing up, our one BIG toy would be unwrapped. But, my mom used to wrap our presents from Santa in tissue paper - red for me and green for my brother - and place them with our stockings...it was like that every year well into adulthood! Now that my son is two, and knows who Santa is, I'll start the same tradition.

We also wrap all presents, but I make sure I have special Santa paper for the Santa gifts. Word of warning....hide the paper well and throw it away afterwards. We almost got busted one year until I convinced my then 4 yr old that Santa must of left some of his paper behind when he was dropping off his gifts. He usually has a few elves on the sleigh wrapping last minute gifts. Whew! It worked.

I have a 3 1/2 year old and a 7 1/2 month old. Usually we put together whatever Santa brings if it is a big toy and all the little ones we usually wrap. It gives my 3 year old more things to open, which he loves to do. Also, I just love to wrap presents. I love this time of year!!!!

Growing up, "Santa" presents were always wrapped in different paper or the funnies section of the newspaper... just to set them apart. As much as you want to see the toys underneath, I know there was a certain excitement about "what did Santa bring?" and ripping the paper off. We started doing this with our daughter too, and she loves it! Then again, she still whole-heartedly believes in the Santa spirit. ;) That's just what we do. I think it makes it that much more fun and special.

I don't wrap the little items I put in the stockings like tooth brushes, tooth paste, matchbox cars, soap, candy, etc. however I wrap all gifts from Santa and from us as parents I don't wrap big items like a bike, wagon, etc. I put bows and tags on those.
I have a few gifts put together and ready and wrapped so that we aren't fumbling with the ties that hold the item in the box so we have a chance to enjoy some of the gifts being open.
Since so many items are tied in we have talked about taking items out and wrapping them but aren't sure yet. I do like gifts to be wrapped theirs nothing like the looks on their faces when they open something they've been waiting. Best of luck!

We wrap everything! The boys are grown and would be so disappointed not to get a present from Santa :) Usually it's play swords or nerf air guns or something fun like that. :)

Our gifts from Santa always come wrapped in paper that has Santa on it. Any other gifts are wrapped in holiday paper without Santa on it.

We usually wrap our gifts on one type of paper and wrap the ones we claim are from santa in a different color. We usually only say we bought 1 or 2 so that he doesnt catch on that it is us buying them,we give santa most of the credit for the gufts and usually do small special things like making a house and cookies so that their focus isnt solely on presents. We don't wrap the really big or stranges shapped stuff from us or from Santa. But stuff from Santa that does get wrapped is in a special paper with just the childs name on it. Some how my 7yr old hasn't caught on that the hand writing is mine!! Maybe this year she will but we'll keep it going till my 19 month old catches on!!
