Low iron levels could be a cause for being tired all the time. Have you had that checked out?
Alright moms, I appreciate all your responses and suggestions on my being tired all the time question, but I have a new question for you now. I'm still tired, getting better thanks to all of you, but still tired. I'm also starting to feel sick and my period is now 10 days late. I assumed this all added up to being pregnant, but I've taken my third test today, and the results have all been negative. I was wondering if any of you experienced the same situation. Should I still think I'm pregnant? What else could be causing all of these symptoms? Any ideas and suggestions would be appreciated! I'm going crazy trying to figure it out, and we only have insurance set up for my son, so I'm reluctant to go to a doctor until I have to. Thanks moms!
Low iron levels could be a cause for being tired all the time. Have you had that checked out?
I experienced all of these things a few years ago. I was tired all the time, I was not eating very much at all and I felt nauseous alot. I too was late having my period but my pregnancy tests were negative. Here's what I did. I made an appointment at my OB, talked to him about all my symptoms and he gave me a little depression test. It's actually like 10 or so questions that you answer on paper. Turnes out I was suffering from depression. I was shocked because I never had any issues before and I have a perfectly normal happy life. Well depression is not about having a happy life or not, it is totally chemical. At lease in my case. I'm sure you probably know all this but I actually didn't. By the way, I should add that I had gone to my family doctor first and had all sorts of blood tests to make sure that I didn't have a thyroid problem. All my blood tests were normal so that was ruled out! Anyway, my OB put me on Wellbutrin and Ambien to help me sleep and I eventually got to feeling better. The shocker is, the next month I got pregnant but that is another story. Anyway, I hope this helps. Just make an appointment with your OB and let them help you. They are not just there for you pregnancies and annual visits. A visit for this should not cost much at all! Good luck.
So far, everyone who has written in is right. There are many conditions causing your symptoms. Hormonal changes can cause it (pregnant or not), thyroid problems, chronic undiagnosed illness, etc... You could be pregnant and the test not come up positive. My mother had 4 healthy children and her urine test was not positive until she was 6months along and feeling the baby happily moving! I can understand the reluctance to go to the doctor without insurance. You can try 400mg vitamin B6 twice a day. All the B vitamins are good, but my OB put me on that one for being tired and forgetful. GOOD LUCK!

I just went to the doctor for the same thing. I haven't had a period in almost 3 months and I'm not pregnant. She checked my hormone levels and did a sonogram to check my ovaries and utereus, but everything checked out ok except that I have a low level of progesterone. She said that, along with stress, could cause me to miss my cycle and definately would make me tired. So, after all the visits and poking and proding...what it boils down to is this-birth control. She said if I started talking the pill it would regulate my hormones and my cycle, also giving me more energy and not so much PMS! It's only been 2 days, but I feel better already! So, if you don't have insurance my suggestion is just to go to a clinic and get a prescription for the pills.Good luck and I hope you start feeling better soon!
The same thin happened to me and it didnt show up on pregnancy test b/c I was only like 4 weeks along. The doctor said sometimes it wont show up that early. The is a place called Planned Parenthood in Plano. There they would give you a test, maybe even blood work to see if you are pregnant. I went with my first and for a pregnancy test , it was like maybe 30-40 dollars. If you went there and were positive then you get proof that you were there and took the test. You would then go to the local medicaid office and see if you qualify. I didnt it with my first and couldnt be happier I did. Any questions let me know. Godd Luck!!!!
S., It sounds like Thyroid problems to me. WHen your thyroid is not working correctly your hormones are messed up and your period gets irregeular and you have a hard tme getting pregnant. WIthout going into a LONG story, HAVE YOUR THYROID checked by an endocrinologist. I have been there and if someone had told me to do this I could have saved myself a lot of problems. Including miscarriages. The first symptom is TIRED!!!!! Good luck and you can email me with more questions if you would like.

Hi S.,
It sounds like you have several possibilities at this point :) You can decide whether to wait another week and retest or you can come in for nutritional counseling. We can use Applied Kinesiology (Muscle testing) to determine what organ(s) are involved and prescribe the correct nutrition to correct the condition. It is inexpensive and very effective. You get the results immediately and you can start feeling better immediately! Getting on the correct nutrition will help you feel better, and will help your growing child if you are pregnant.
