Hi Michelle,

I have curly hair too, which can be a pain, too! I have been using April Stuart at the Salon Boutique in Frisco (just behind Stonebriar Mall) for over a year now. She does an excellent color job and I have never had so many compliments on my hair. I highly recommend her. Wk number ###-###-####

try Artisik Edge -- royal & abrams, ###-###-####

they are reasonably priced, and have talented professionals. Tell them about what you need (hair type, style, color, price, etc.) and they will match you with the right person. I liked it.... Susan H.

M.,

I go to a great guy, who is very affordable. He owns the Soho Salon on the Coppell/Dallas border. It's a straight shot down Beltline. Anyhow, I've been going to him for 6 years, and my mom has been going even longer, and we would never use anyone else. He has a great sense of knowing what you want, and advising you on what he thinks might work best with your hair based on the texture and what you're going for. His name is Kent, and he also works with a great woman named Hortencia. The number to Soho Salon is ###-###-####. The only slight downfall, and I mean slight, is he's Vietnamese so sometimes he's hard to understand. He's very good about it, and will repeat if you don't understand or can't hear him. That's minor though because he's amazing, and Hortencia is great too. Give them a call, and if you go with Kent, let him know A. and Joyce sent you.

My friend owns Hairanoia in Plano (15th and Independence). Give her a call and see what she says about curly hair. I have poker straight fine hair and she does great with that. Her name is Penny and she's at ###-###-####.

My Salon isn't SO near you, but it's not SO far away, either. It's Alchemy Salon in Oak Cliff (Bishop Arts Disctrict). My hair guy, Michael, has curly hair and is SO GOOD WITH CURLY HAIR it's unreal. I have the Curly Girl book, I don't use shampoo, I've been to the Devachan Salon in NYC ... and he's been there, too! I have turned about 5 people onto him AND, as far as I can tell, he's very reasonably priced: my cut & color usually end up being $100-$120 or so. He also sells Bumble & Bumble and the DevaCurl products (Ulta has the DevaCurl stuff, but he sells it cheaper ... )

Try naturallycurly.com, if you'd like to find someone closer, I believe they have a section for finding a stylist in your area. Michael's website (he owns the salon) is http://www.alchemysalon.net/
