I have the same problem. I use the sticky traps since they are so small and didn't even trip the reg mouse traps I was so made to wake up and have 8 traps that had peanut butter on them that was just eaten off....lol They have the sticky traps at walmart and if you line them up against the wall where they travel the most they will get stuck =)

Use a spray bottle and spray ammonia in your attic and around the outside of your house. To them, it smells like a predator's urine and they will want to run away from it. Start with the attic then wait 24 hours (for them to escape your house) and then spray the outside to keep them from wanting to come back in. Use eye and face protection when you do it to keep from the ammonia bothering you. Reapply ammonia to the exterior of your home once a week, depending on rainfall. (also... just because you can't smell it anymore doesn't mean they can't smell it, so once a week should be sufficient)

Bait the mouse traps with peanut butter. For some reason mice love it.

We use the supersonic sensors that you plug in. Lots of people dont think they work- but I believe they do. The only time I have seen mice in our garage is when the sensors have been unplugged for some reason. They are like 10-15 dollars for a 2 pack. Go to Lowes and try them. They give off a high pitched sound that we cant hear, but vey annoying to the mice. It does not send them running immediately, but once they go, they stay gone. Good luck

Out in th open is iffy, but traditional mouse traps work without bate, you set them up in area's they crawl. We had one inour cabinets, I was not to sure how they were going to work, especially since they were so chap. Ina matter of minutes I caught the little bugger.
