Sad Days

My hubby is out of town this week and I'm starting to feel run down and a little lonely. I've started a new diet which helps with energy, but I think because I'm tired that things are getting to me more than normal and it's making me sad. What do you do to cheer yourself up when you're sad? Thanks.

What can I do next?

I pull up my work-out playlist on my I POD and BLARE it as loud as I can. Music always seems to pull me out of a funk.

I have found that the best thing for me to cheer up is to help others. When I get out of my "self" and reach out and help someone else, it is an instant pick me up.
Just my two cents,

Blare 80's music and dance around in my underwear either while doing housework or just being stupid... works every time.

Watch the comedy channel for a few laughs.
Watch a funny movie
Buy yourself some cheap flowers @ the grocery store.
Call a good girlfriend for some good conversation or a laugh.
Get yourself a mocha.
Go for a walk, weather/time/child commitments permitting.
Keep telling yourself he'll be home soon & in the meantime go do something that you just can't get done when he is around: get a pedicure, clean a closet, whatever floats "your" boat.
Count your blessings.
Find a short, positive mantra & keep repeating it to yourself like "I'm lucky
to have my hubby & family, my health, my life!". Something like that.
Hang in there! :)

Grab a friend and get out for a while. Then come home, put on warm, snuggling PJs and watch good movie while drinking hot chocolate. Enjoy the solitude!

Exercise. Read a good book. Call a friend and have a girl's night out? See a "feel good" or funny movie. I see you're in the Midwest. The fall colors are beautiful this year. Can you take a drive or a walk to see the colors? I'm not one of them (unfortunately), but some people get energized by organizing. Clean out that closet you've been meaning to get to? If it were me, I would exercise, read and rent a movie, in that order. Hope you're feeling better soon.

I've been there, it's hard. What things do you do for yourself?

When I am feeling down, I ask a friend to grab coffee with me, and take our son's to the park. Watching my son laugh and play and just be a kid always makes me feel better. Even if I do have to chase that lil bugger across the park!

Do you have kids? Make a play date. If it's just you, grab a friend and do something girly and relaxing, like a pedicure, a movie, dinner, etc.

Get out and do something!

I look up silly things on the internet. I am a big fan of peopleofwalmart.com. Everytime I need a laugh I check that site out ( and I pray that I never ever appear as a wal-creature)

Take a break! Do you have a family member or friend who can watch the kids for a hour or so? Get a pedicure, coffee, shop, whatever. When my husband is gone for a long time, I always make sure there is a sitter in there at some point. It will really make you feel better!
And then of course when the kids go to bed, watch a super sad movie to get out all those tears!
