Running Warm

Mamas & Papas -

Any thoughts on what this might be all about? I've always been one to run cold. Cold hands, cold feet, and a sweater on hand. This is life long. Mom used to have the doctors check for anemia everytime I had bloodwork, because she just couldn't wrap her head around why I might run so cold.

All of a sudden, and seemingly out of no where, I am no longer running cold. In fact, I find myself a little on the hotter side of late. Not feverish, just warm, possibly like everyone else is all the time. The only change I can think of is that I have been more diligent about taking B complex and a daily multi-vite. Could it be the vitamins?

is this worth speaking to a doctor about?

Thanks for helping me brainstorm.

I was thinking perimenopause too . . . another thing I wondered is whether you started a new B vitamin. One of the B's can make you "flush" (can't remember which one - is it niacin?). Another thought - could your thyroid be off?

I'm not a health care provider of any type - this is just my "mom" opinion. :)

ETA: Just saw your B-vitamin comment - that could very well be it (as I mentioned above).

could be the B complex. could be menopause lurking.
i was so young (early 40s) when i started the peri-phase that i was clueless about it for MONTHS, never even occurred to me that's what it could be. i was quite sure my dh was messing with the thermostat!

Niacin will do that. In fact, too much and you'll turn oompah loompah red, and be hot all over/radiating heat.

I agree with all the posts so far, could be permenopause, Thyroid, niacin flush, or other hormonal issues. Time to get to the doctor to rule out a few of these things and also get some baseline testing done. All the best.

I started early menopause and for the first time in my life I wasn't traveling with hubby wearing sweat shirts and wrapped up in blankets. I was sitting with all the vents turned on me and gripping because the dang air conditioner was broken...hubby would just smile and say "okay"...

I think it could be hormonal or it could be your thyroid. It can't hurt to call the doc and ask if they want to do a blood workup. It used to be called a Chem 25.
