I like my Roomba, but it now way replaces a cleaning lady.
I decided that instead of hiring a cleaning lady, I'd buy a roomba. Anyone have one or something like it? What model?
I'm sick of vacuuming every single day, sometimes twice a day!

We have the white one, Pet Series, maybe a year or so old. Absolutely love it. Highly recommended! Check Amazon for reviews. We haven't had any negative experiences with ours yet, fortunately. Good luck! It takes a little while to get used to, but it's well worth it.
I have a roomba and am not fond of it... "He" will go out every morning and vacuum but get caught under my couch. Even with the sensors I put up, he still finds a way to get under the couch somewhere. Then he'll get stuck in the back. It doesn't work that well in corners either... It's good for just very basic vacuuming but I need my good vacuum to really get things up.
I have a Roomba and I love it. After a while the filters and the brushes need replacing to keep it working in tip top condition. You can buy rep,a cement parts online.
I put the Roomba on when I go to bed, and when we leave the house in the morning. Contrary to what the online reviews say, they are actually quieter than a regular vacuum, but they do still make noise.
Several of my family members have one and each of them like it. The only issue is that if you have pets, you need to remember to empty the trap every day. The trap is very small, fills up fast, and then it doesn't work.
Check out this old thread. I saved it for when I'm looking to buy it or something like it:
I have the 650 and I LOVE it. We have all wood floors and get a lot of "tumbleweeds" from our four legged friends. Roomba takes care of them. I run it once a day and empty the bin once a day. I clean the brushes every 3-4 days because they get a lot of hair built up on them. I think Roomba does a better job cleaning than I do, and I don't have a problem with corners or anything. It has a brush on the side that goes along the baseboards and that seems to get everything up.
Roomba will drive you crazy if you expect it to vaccum like people do lol. It seems so random and appears to miss spots but by the time it's done it gets them all.
