Hello mothers, im room parent for my daughter's 4th grade class. I'm looking for some game ideas to play or a craft for them to make for their Valentine Party. We only have a total of 30 mins. and we have to serve our food and drinks in that time too. Any ideas??

I have been Room Mom and Head of all Room Moms at my son's school for over 5 years now. Thirty minutes is not very long. we usually have an hour and it is very difficult to serve food and play games or do a craft. In fourth grade, they relaly do just want to sit back, relax and chat wit their friends. One quick idea that incorporates food and a "craft" is to let them decorate their own cookies or cupcakes. Just have muffin tins with sprinkles, small M&M's, red hots, and other small valentine's type candies. You could also have a build your own sundae party and serve ice cream and let them put all the extras on top.
Good Luck!!
Hi C., bingo with candy hearts for the markers is a blast! Also, you can fill a small container with candy hearts or any other Valentine treat and have a contest to see who can guess closest to how many are in there. The winner gets to take home the container of treats. As for the winner of bingo you can give Valentine pencils or erasers which are very cheap at the dollar tree.
I have the best craft idea. I came across it in Walmart today. In the craft section, they have a package with all the items you need to create 24 Valentine photo frames. In the box are heart shapes for the frame and lots of foam stickers-hearts, dots, butterflies that have adhesive backing to decorate the frames with. There is a glitter glue pen, too. My kids are going to make them for family members for Valentine's Day, but as a former teacher I thought it would be great for a class craft project. I, also, bought some magnetic strips with the adhesive backing, so they could use it a refrigerator frame. You just give each child two small squares of the magnet strip to put on the back. Of course, with a whole class you would have to purchase at least a dozen more glitter glue sticks for them to use. The whole package was only $5. This wouldn't take but maybe 10-15 minutes to make and it wouldn't be destroyed if a drink fell on it.
Not sure what we are doing either. I a room mom for our fourth grade claas. I am trying to get them to allow me to do no games of crafts. I think the kids would enjoy and do just fine with nothing to occupy that time.
What about getting a poster board and letting the kids make a valentine for the teacher or principle.
