I have used them for more than a decade and I have a lot of rental property. they are very reasonable and they stand by their product. there are times they would advise me not to put a new roof on if they could repair it. Good people. Rufus the Roofer is the man you will talk to.

Well, just in case you needed another suggestion, we use Canyon Creek Roofing: ###-###-####. The don't "over sell" what you don't need. They also repair fences (as we found out in the storm that came through in April) and install gutters. Good, reliable, affordable and they speak English!!!

I know of Benchmark Roofing in Richardson. They specialize in roofs that have hail damage. They work with your insurance company to get them to cover the cost (if you have hail damage). Don't know the number off the top of my head, but I'm sure you can find them in the phone book.

I got several names from my homeowners insurance agent of roofers that she worked with and recommended. They probably weren't the cheapest so you may want to get a few quotes from other places as well.

You did not mention what type of roof you are thinking of getting. So let me start there. We have a 7000 sq. ft. home with a very large roof. My husband spent hours and hours researching, and it came down to either slate or stone coated steel. Every other affordable material we looked at had known problems or had not been in the Texas market long enough. There's a long list of failed materials in Texas.

We selected stone coated steel for these reasons:

- on the market since 1957, with constant improvements
- ultra strong but lightweight; no need to reinforce your rafters or foundation
- class 4 insurance rating (highest there is); maximum discount
- won't burn
- basically hailproof
- longest transferable warranty of any material
- can be installed over your old wood roof
- no tear-off and no need to redeck (major environmental plus and no yard damage)
- major cost advantage
- adds significant insulation value
- ultra quiet in the rain
- looks great
- no leaks given the way the steel panels interlock
- same cost (or less) than the alternatives

The roofing company you use makes a huge difference.

We used Bert Roofing when we upgraded and replaced our roof about 4 yrs ago. Our house is 8 yrs old. A hail storm damaged the builder roof (HA HA builder quality SUCKS) and we upgraded.
