My solution was to put mine onto a padded step stool with a bar at the top that ends up falling behind the travel high chair's back. Seems to be the right height for them to sit at the table once they are old enough, and also climb up into the seat later too. But the A-shaped frame keeps it wider at the bottom and lessens any chance that they could actually tip back at all.
