Unless you have had sustained an injury in an accident or a fall, you probably have a pinched nerve. The only thing that helped me was a chiropractor.
Mine didn't show up until I was around 38. The doctor sent me for all sorts of tests and determined I had a couple of pinched nerves at the base of my neck/spine. He put me on muscle relaxers, pain pills, and stringent physical therapy, heat packs, ice packs, water therapy and took me off of my exercise program (sit-ups, etc), said I was aggravating my system. I was masking the symptoms, but not clearing up the root of the problem. So, it felt good at the time, but didn't fix the problem.
Long story short: After about $13,000 (my part) and 4 years of following his plan religiously, I was not much better.
A friend suggerted I see her chiropracter. Within 3 treatments ($25/each, I was pain-free for the first time in over 6 years! He explained that the cause was two-fold: (history) I'd had 2 kids eleven months apart (divorced when they were only 1 and 2), worked full time, lived in a 2nd story apartment with no elevator. Because I didn't want to leave them in the apartment alone & I didn't want to leave them alone in the car)to load & unload the car with purse/diaper bags/day care & miscellaneous items, etc. I would 'hang' everything on me and then hoist one kid on each hip and make one trip down/up the stairs (especially in inclement weather).
I thought I was being innovative & efficient, but instead I was breaking down my body!
Also, I carried one of these 'don't-ever-leave-anything-at-home' purses that probably weighed around 15-18 pounds on any given day .... I'd switch sides, but that wasn't enough.
Between my kiddos and my purses, my body was constantly being jarred ..... and it brussed/pinched the nerves.
After just one week, there was an improvement and I was pretty much pain-free. Following each adjustment, I would lie on this table with rollers in it for about 15 minutes.
I kept seeing the chiropractor for several months - going only once a week or less the last couple of months. I was maintaining all right, but as I got older (62 now), those aches/pains crept back a few times.
NOW I found my own personal mechanical chiropractor .... I can plug it in, lie down, turn on some soft music turn it on for about 15/20 minutes ..... talk about a miracle cure (for more than just sore muscles. I found it a few years ago and it has even helped my grandchild with asthma, my mom with lung cancer
I know we're not supoised to solicit/sell, etc. via this network, but if you can find a way to reach me or give me an address, I'll try to get you the info.
Good luck
