You can buy a little bottle of rust remover possibly at a grocery store but probably for sure at a handware store. It might work.

Wink rust remover at the Grocery store (brown bottle).
i found that awesome from the dollar store works on any stains i've had.
I've used Rit (as in Rit Dye) Rust Remover with good success. You have to be careful trying to remove rust stains from clothing...sometimes the suggested solution makes the stain worse.
My grandmother got rust stains out of a favorite pair of white jeans of mine, then she sewed up all the hole's the Bleach put in the jeans. LOL but the rust was gone, I was 10yr old or so. Grew up on a farm, on the green thumb, this is said to be true. When your skin touches the plant, it gets effected by the acid, or ackiline, so wear gloves to water, do not touch the plant. And see if the plant takes off. Best of luck with the laundry, I want to read the responces.
Try iron out you can find it in the plumming section of the store and you wash the top with that and than run it through a normal wash cycle with normal laundry soap after the iron out. the ioron out will smell funkie but it works
