Hi Mama's,
My daughter will be 5 in November. She has had a 16" bike with training wheels for a year, and over the last few months, she complains of her back hurting when she rides a short distance. Any ideas of why or what to do?
Thank you!
~J.

My daughter is a lot older (14). She was complaining of back pain for a few months. It turned out to be spina bifida occulta. It could be nothing, but i would talk to your pediatrician.

Is she hunching over to hold the bars?

Does she like riding her bike? My granddaughter is around the same age and she complains about her legs hurting which is code for 'I don't want to ride any more;. If she likes riding then make sure the bars and seat are adjusted well and that she's not constantly leaning to 1 side when riding.

Bike seats can be quite unforgiving, even for adults. You can check to see if there is a padded accessory for the seat. Maybe the seat/handlebars need to be adjusted as well.
