lots of rentals in the real estate section of the l.a. times. the sunday edition is the best. also try the pennysaver. the only other places i know of are websites that cost to view the listings.

2800 a month sounds like it is out of your price range, but if anyone is looking for something in El Segundo, there are townhomes in my complex for rent and they are amazing!
If I had to rent mine out, we'd have to ask for way more than that to cover the mortgage, so 2800 is a steal for them..........

Have them look in San Pedro. There is rent control.
Of course, by now the rents have gone up a lot since we moved here several years ago. But rents are much more reasonable than the rest of the beach cities. Look in the Daily Breeze, on Craig's list, and just driving around looking for rental signs works too. We used to live in a "slumlord" building too in Redondo, full of mold and finally gave up looking in Redondo and Torrance. Just too pricey for what it's worth.
