Go to an OBGYN and have it removed... it's super quick and painless :)

Congrats on having it removed, those things are AWFUL. You'll feel 100% better in a few days!!

I had my IUD removed when I was ready to procreate again...and it was so easy. Just went to my midwife (or a gynecologist's office), she went in with a speculum, took hold of the strings...told me to cough, and it was out. Didn't even feel it.

I hope you have an alternative for birth control in mind, unless you are planning on becoming pregnant. Best of luck!

Do you have any friends or acquaintences in your new area that can give your a recommendation for a good gynecologist? If not, call your old provider and see if they can recommend someone in your new area...Yep from what I understand is that the IUD is a definite you either love it or hate it and there's no in between....I am sorry you are having problems....Seems like you need it removed asap!!! Feel better.

Go to a obgyn or a family physician should be able to do it. It's easier to take out than it was to put in. I hated mine.

I had the 10 yr device and had very bad periods too.... I kept it in for like 8 years and just switch it to the 5 yr device. The removal process was very painless and quick. They just go in and pull it out.... I know doesn't sound fun but trust me it didn't hurt at all. I was surprised because I was scared too. But putting in the new one hurt ALOT!!!!! It's better now and the periods have gotten a lot better and the flow is alot less too. Good luck
