Our family is needing some more space and the most practical place is in an area where the septic tank and the a/c unit is currently placed. Before I start making any real plans to get my husband on board, have any of you ever moved one or both of these items? I don't know if it's even possible but sure hope so. Let me know please. Thanks in advance for your suggestions/advice!

I would try to get a contractor out there to look around and see what your options are.........either way, it's going to be expensive....especially if you move it..........and the yard will be a disaster!

It might be better to just move! I'm sure you can get some free quotes if you look around......good luck.

how about building a second story? or a basement? I dont think the a/c moving will be a very big deal, but the septic tank is another story. call a contractor and ask!!

Hi. I have looked into moving a septic for my grandmother last year and what they would do is; pump it out and actually install a new one with new lines runs anywhere from 3 to 5,000. They take the lid off of the old one and fill in the tank but don't dig it up. And your a/c unit is a easy fix! My husband runs his own electrical business here in Auburn AL and we are always getting calls to run power to a new unit. Good luck and god bless!

we moved our ac to the side of the house instead of the backyard. it would have cost a lot, but my mom lives with an hvac guy who came over and did it for us.

Simple, discuss the matter with your husband, and say that you would like to obtain three bids.
Also that you would ask if they have a better, and less expensive suggestion for your adding on project.
This will cost nothing but time and it will give you three professional opinions.
You do say whether the house is on a slab, if not, it may be better to raise it/
Good luck and God Bless
