My daughter has been blessed with a great teacher this year! She is constantly raising money and getting grants for the school. She just recently got enough money to raise a garden in honor of a little 2nd grader that died this year. I'll be getting her a gift card to a teacher store and one for starbucks.

I have LOVED all of my daughter's teachers with the exception of 9th grade geometry. In elementary school there were always gifts of thanks, not just for "techer appreciation" Christmas or end of the year. Gift cards, fruit, flowers, lots of things. These were the women and men who also gave my daughter an amazing foundation (with our help of course). Yes, it's their job but they did damn good job. I was involved as much as I could: room parent, PTA board, city council projects, school board involvement. High School was mostly being involved with sports and judging the science fairs.
Thanks for the reminder. I knew Teacher Appreciation was coming up, just didn't know when. As a childcare provider, I didn't even know there was a day for appreciation, let alone a whole week.
