Why hasn'y your OB given you a referral?
I am hoping all you wonderful moms in Florida can help me. I will be relocating to Boca right before my third trimester ! I am 40 years old with a large fibroid (therefore, high risk) I have decided through my research that I am comfortable with West Boca Medical. Now, to find a doctor who is experienced with high-risk, is respected at West Boca and is gentle...as I am starting to panic ! I should also say that this is my (blessed) first child :-) So far, I have heard the names Dr Fleischer and Dr Laura Greenbaum. Any advice would be so greatly appreciated Many thanks from a former NJ girl
Still a little on the fence with deciding on doctors. I have heard very good comments or very, very bad comments about Dr. Fleischer. I know it is expected that not everyone will love the doctor but the responses are so extreme from one end of the spectrum to the other. I also heard good things about Dr. Greenbaum but that she and her office does not carry malpractice insurance? Can this be correct ? I thought all doctors needed malpractice insurance ?
Thank you to everyone. I am still conducting my search and I am welcoming any and all comments.

Hi. I use Dr. Greenbaum as my gyn. I like her. Don't know her rep as a high-risk doc, but like her as a gyno. Have a holistic Dr I can recommend to keep your body in alighment and balance. Dr. Kitay, ###-###-####.

Dr Fleischer delivered my 2nd child. He actually was my "back-up" doctor because my regular ob/gyn went out of down. Dr. Fleischer was better than my regular doctor! He was caring and wonderful-- I was in great hands. I had our baby at Boca Raton Community Hospital (but I'm pretty sure he is affiliated with both hospitals).
West Boca has a level 3 nic-u. Dr. Fleischer is fantastic. I had some issues and risks too and he was really on top of everything.
Good luck!!!!!!! ... Don't panic!!!! Everything will work out and before you know it, you'll be holding that baby!! How exciting!!!
Welcome to FL :)

Dr.Fleischer delivered my son and he is fantastic, definitely recommend. I've talked to other women and they really like him too. I delivered at east Boca, closer to house, but west Boca is highly rated for their maternity ward, he is definitely affiliated with west Boca as I considered delivering there even though farther away. Congratulations!

Former nj too:-)
Hi D. and Congratulations!!!! I am a former Long Islander!! I delivered my son, Preston (who will be 5 in October) at West Boca and at that time I was 39 - so I also was considered Hi-Risk. The birthing rooms are great, I stayed in the hospital 3 days & it was wonderful.
The best, best Dr - I feel is Dr. Rebecca Stern - very well respected, kind, very caring and straight forward. Her bedside manner is terrific. She is probably your age and has 3 of her own children. Her office is directly across the parking lot from West Boca - she has in-office ultrasound - so expect to see a lot of those (fun!!) I can't say enough - her number ###-###-####.
Best of luck and relax, enjoy every moment as it flies by!!!
