Hello Mamas! So I was looking into relationship counseling for my significant other & I. He and I have some pretty serious issues going on (I'll spare you the details), & we would like to attempt to work through them & save our relationship. I did the usual googling, & came up with a few, but I would like to know if any of you have used one that you really were happy with or that you would recommend. I found one, Family Counseling Center Association, that caught my interest. They also work on a sliding scale which is a plus for us, because although we are eager to do what it takes to weather the storm, we don't have much extra moola to dish out for the professional help. Any thoughts on that center? TIA for your help!
BTW, we are located in North Fort Worth. Thanks again Mamas!

I know that sometimes you can find counseling in churches free of charge. Good luck because I admire your ambition to work through the storms and that both of you are willing.

Contact your health insurance carrier and ask for covered providers in your area. When you contact the providers you can ask to schedule an interview (NOT A SESSION) so you can meet them first before you make your decision on who to see.

Call Kris Carlson (in Bedford off of 121) ###-###-####. She excepts most insurances and employee assitance programs. My company offers 5 FREE councelor sessions a year. Check with both of your offices - they might as well. My husband and I both really liked her. She's a lesbian, which we loved because she's able to give a take on both the male and female roles while not being biased torwards either gender. She offers a lot of great advice and solutions.

We go about two or three times a year, whether we need to our not. We refer to it like taking your car in for a tune-up - it something that's better for you regardless of the situation. We always feel better when we leave.

William Gumm in Hurst is absolutely wonderful. Not sure what he charges, but I do know that he takes insurance. I think our co-pays were something like $20 or $30.

Check with your insurance provider, many will cover some counseling sessions. I know mine covered the first 8 and than determined if they would cover more based on the therapists recommendation.
