No. Spirit Day is never compulsory. The only thing to consider is if your son will be upset or feel left out if he's not in red & white. If so, you can probably pick up a red bandana or something for very cheap at a drugstore. Just pair that with a white T shirt (and any old pants), and you're set.

red and white means just that have something red and something white. it could be a hat or a pair of sunglasses. maybe a tshirt that has red in it or a pair of white sweatpants. some kids go all out and some carry a red and white pencil. (or whatever colors the school colors are) could be a pair of socks, could be the shirt, the hat whatever

Yes, send him to school with the bag and he may wear the shirt. He will be dressed perfectly.

No,it's not compulsary. My 6th grade granddaughter sometimes doesn't follow the spirit day theme.

Let your son be creative. Suggest he think of ways to wear red and white. He doesn't have to have red and white clothes. He could cover his notebook in red and white construction paper, for example.

The school bag sounds fine. So does the shirt.

If this is your kindergarten son he may not even care if he wears red and white. My granddaughter didn't get interested in it until 5th grade. Most younger kids don't get involved.
