Recovering Deleted Videos from Digital Video Camera?

My husband was working on transferring videos from our digital video camera tonight and accidently deleted all of the 2009 videos from the camera before copying them over. I know there is software out there that can recover files. Anyone use a specific one successfully? I'd like my daughter's first birthday and Christmas back!

If you have not recorded new videos since he deleted them, they should still be there. I would contact geek squad (at best buy) or do a search in your area for someone that specializes in computer repair. My friend had lost 200 pictures from our trip to Hawaii and found a computer professional to help her restore them all! I'm sure there might be some software online, but I wouldn't take the chance trying to do it myself I were in your shoes in case there is a chance of deleting them entirely. Good luck!

This happened to me too! I successfully recovered all of my pictures that had ever been on my SD card. I have the exact download on my laptop, but not with me right now. You can google something like SD recovery and there is a website for Lexar recovery. You have to download the software, but it's free and works like a charm. I will send you the link when I get back to my home office!

I'd recommend finding a local camera shop and seeing if they have a service that does it. I accidentally deleted several pictures from a digital camera, and they were able to recover 90% from the card.

They may be able to recommend a good back-up system to protect them in the future.

Make sure you DO NOT record anything new until you get it recovered. Usually once the file has been saved over, it's gone!
