Hey everyone,
I am having the hardest time this Christmas trying to find good toys for my daughter who is a little over two (28 months). Are there any that you've had for your own kids that you swear by? It just seems that she already has so many toys that we already don't have room! We have an apartment, so it's kinda small, and I refuse to buy Dora, Princess, Bratz or most character-name toys. And two is a hard age because so many things are 3+. Anything that's space-saving, gender-neutral, educational, Christian-related, or inexpensive would be a plus. What have you bought that you just love for your kids? Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone! Those were some great ideas. I loved the Nativity set idea and I ordered in online. The other one we decided on was the Play Hut which was actually on sale at KB Toys. Thanks again! Merry Christmas!

There are some great learning toys, I think they are made by leap frog, My daughter has the drum, as she hits the top of the drum it goes through the alphabet. They have a drum that does both letters and numbers and some other toys that are great. I know my little two year old girl likes it. Even my 11 month old likes to play with it. Hope this helps.

Do you consider Little People in that list? There is a little people creche'/nativity scene that I am considering getting for my two year old son. He is fascinated with ours and this way, he could have a nativity of his own. Although it wouldn't get tossed in with the other ones. I like gifts you can add to. I saw at Walmart last night that they have these paint brush things for little kids that are small for little hands with the paint inside. They love to create around this age. Color wonder markers. Is there a christian bookstore in town? I have always loved getting my kids books. Good luck!

My son loves his "Boz' and "Hermie" dvd's that we got him. Both are Christian/Morals oriented series.
My son is also big into Pop-ons for building things right now. There is also a magazine calls High-Five that is like Highlights for little kids. My son loves to sit and do those with us as well. The Play huts a re a little big when up, but fold down to nothing and can be stuck behind a door or cabinent or something and my some loves his train one, I know they have other ones too.
Good luck!

We just bought my son the Storytime Theatre.. its this projector type thing that you hook the books that goes to it on it and it projects the pictures of the book onto the wall and it also reads for you and goes at the pace that you do .. so when you turn the page the picture changes and it reads from there. i believe i got it at target for $40 but it is on sale at toys R us for $20 right now. also .. i got an eisel. for my son to color on the chalk board or with markers on the other side. Little people toys are awesome.. and puzzles are inexpensive and a great learning type toy for children. blocks, i also got the fishing game thing that the fish goes around in circles and they open there mouth and you have the little fishing poles with the magnets to go fishing. i believe that was $10 at walmart.. hope these ideas work !!

Hi- there is an "Animal Hospital" that is made by Parent's Magazine. It has different colored doors, with different colored large plastic keys. Behind the doors are different small animals (kind of like beanie babies). There is a stethoscope and other play instruments to take care of the animals. My girls and my son loved this toy- and I buy it for all of my friends. It is great for their fine motor skills and for developing pretend play. You can buy it at any retailer. I know I recently found it at Target. Good Luck!

My Girl has loved her Weebles since her first b-day, she is 2.5 now and still plays with them every day.
She also loves Hot Wheels. I'm not sure of the age on them, but she doesn't put stuff in her mouth. She loves to sort them, by color, type ect.
