Hi Moms,
I have read the reviews and wanted to solicit more advice for schools that you either recommend or feel strongly families should avoid. I am looking for a part-time pre-school for my 15 mos. old daugher. She has been home and it's time for her to start socializing and sharing with other children. I am opening to something short-term as it seems some of the better rated programs have a waiting list. Any insight would be helpful.

Based on Ratings and Research, these are the schools that have stood out:
Primrose on Eldorado
Faith Christian Academy
Daffodils

** I need a year round program.

What can I do next?

My daughter started going ot First Learning at First Baptist Church on Louisiana when she was 14 months old. I wanted social interaction for her. It is a superb program. This year (now that she is 2) they are learning Bible Stories, Spanish, and Music. She is excited to go there and her three teachers are so great. They are actually building on to the childrens center because there is such a demand to get in. I would definitely check it out.

My daughter goes to the Primrose on Eldorado and I recommend it. The Primrose on Virginia Parkway is owned by the same people. I have not visited that particular one, but have visited others owned by the same owners and have found them all to be of the same standard.

My coworker takes her daughter to Daffodils and loves it. It's just too far for me. :)

From what I've been told by other moms, my neighbor, etc., avoid Childrens Lighthouse (on Eldorado further west of Primrose).

I take both my kids to North Texas Christian Academy on Hwy 75 & Wilmeth. I live close to where you are and it takes 10-15 minutes to get there.

We had a terrible experience at one of the other preschools in the area (came highly recommended) in the 2005-2006 school year and moved my older son to NTCA last year. Best thing I ever did!! They are very warm and loving there, and at the same time do a great job of educating the children. We were so impressed that we decided to put our older son in their private kindergarten (never considered private school before). Everyone there knows your child individually from the director down to the aids. Their phone number is ###-###-####.

If you are interested in the name of the school I didn't like and the reasons behind it (met someone recently who also had a bad experience), send me a private message and I'll give you that info.

Good luck!!

I take my son to Crossing Point Christian School off of Hunt Rd and Redbud...This is his second year(4yrs old)there and he absolutely loves it. The price is also very reasonable.

Hi K.!

I know that Top of the World (Academy, maybe) is really great. It's a pretty new school at Lake Forest and Virginia Parkway. (Just north of McKinney Boyd HS and right in front on those 3 HUGE mansions! hehe) I have a close friend whose son goes there, and has for a couple years. I teach Pre-K, and I can tell he's getting REALLY good instruction. He loves it too.

Good luck!
