There is a what to expect for children .. I actually have it on my shelf but it might be too old for him. Go to BN and they have a bunch of stuff and you can ask the folks there they are so helpful!
Hi Ladies,
My son is 15 months old and will be 19 months when his baby brother or sister is born. I want to get a baby book that will help my son begin to understand becoming a big brother and what the experience of having a new baby will be like. Since he is so young, I know there are likely only a few books that will be age appropriate for him. I would love to hear any and all book recommendations! Thanks so much.

My son was 20 months old when our twins were born. We got him two of the boy Graco baby dolls with the little accessories (car seat, stroller, bottles) and he loved them. He took care of them while we took care of the twins. It helped him understand what we were doing with the babies.
"I'm a Big Brother Now" - I had the girl version for my daughter - she was the same age and she loved it. the author's name is Joanne something, she also has some good potty books when he is older! Good luck! S.
S.,
I am an Usborne Book Educational Supervisor, and saw your posting. Usborne has an excellent book for your needs entitled The New Baby. It's very simple, with great illustrations. You can view it at my website www.UsborneSarah.com. Let me know if I can help you.
Best wishes,

There are two books by Jeanne Ashbe, "What's Inside?" and "And After That" The first is about what is inside mommy's belly and the second is what happens after the baby is born. Both are lift the flap books are are simple and cute. My son who was 2 1/2 when my twins were born still keeps his books. The first pages are what happens after you build block - they fall down. Then it goes into, the baby gets a bath, and after that...you get a special bath with daddy. It's really very sweet.
The book we had was I'm A Big Sister by Joanna Cole. She also wrote a boy version I'm A Big Brother. Great book with simple sentence structure and only dealt with what life was like for the child when the baby comes home.
My best friend got my son a book called "I'm A Big Brother Now" when his brother was born. We read it over and over and over, and it really helped him. Good luck!
S., we got "What's Behind the Bump" I don't recall the author right now, but the story is a very cute little rhyming one about the "mysterious BUMP" and how it gets bigger and bigger!! It's very cute - my boys (11, 8) still love to pull it out and read it to my 2 year old. Hope it helps! LM
I found a book for my daughter with no words. You piut your own to it to fit your situation and his learning ability. I did not know it was simply a picture book when i bought it. My daughter is turning 3 next. I was worried she would not care for it much... but even now, after our son has been in our lives for 3 mos... she stilll has me 'read' the book to her. It is called "My New Baby" illustrated by Annie Kubler.
