My 11 month old has had ear infection after ear infection for the last four months. Antiobiotics are not working. I have heard that chiropractics can be great for this sort of thing. Does anyone have any recommendations of a good pediatric chiropractor for a one-year old?
Thanks!

Hi J.,
I see a wonderful chiropracter who has also worked on my duaghter several times now (my daughter will be 2 in May).
Her name is Dr. Linda Squires out of Amythest Chiropractic in Somerville (Davis Square). She is very gentle and uses non-force technique.

Also, have you checked out his diet? Sometimes recurrent ear infections can be due to allergies. Common culprits include wheat (bread or any bread product) and dairy.

If your little guy has been on a few rounds of antibiotics, you may want to consider giving acidophilous (the good bacteria, it is what makes yogurt so good for your digestive tract, but without the dairy). I mix about 1/4 teaspoon (powder) in a small amount of water and my daughter eagerly drinks hers daily! Also supposed to help with immune function...

Good Luck!
E.

This is the chiro I recently started going to for the past 2 mos. I'm almost 36 weeks pregnant with back issues and since going to her my back has been great and my baby turned w/o issue. (My last pregnacy baby was stuck in transverse position and needed c-sect :( )
She has 6-7 years post graduate work with pre and postnatal chiro, and pediatric chiro. I've seen her work with kids and she is great. She seems a little flakey but is easy going and seems to know her stuff. I live in Waltham as well. If you go off rush hour time it takes about 30 min to get there. Ask Dr. about shortcut other than Harvard Street. Any questions please feel free to ask :) Good luck!

Hi J.,
I took my son to a chirpractor for ear infections and it was quite effective. Not sure where you live but mine was a very good pediatric chiropractor living in westwood(Dr. Peter Kevorkian) They belong to a group called Westfood Family Chiropractic (just google it and you shoudl eb abel to get all the info). Also, please tell them not to adjust the neck area(as per my pediatrician's advice). Hope this helps!
