Hello ladies,

I am looking for rechargeable AA batteries for all the Christmas toys=) I looked on Amazon and many of them did not get very high ratings. Do you have rechargeables that you like or dislike??

Thanks in advance!!!

What can I do next?

I bought eneloop batteries for my kids' leappads and they seem to hold a charge well. I bought 4 AAA, 8 AA and charger at costco for $24. Amazon had it listed at $40.

I used rechargables all the time for the kids toys. They don't last as long per charge as regular batteries, so the secret is to buy 2 sets for each toy. That way you will have a set totally recharged (it takes awhile to recharge them) when you need to change them. Obviously buy a recharger; mine was multi-size so I could recharge AAA, AA, A, B, C and 9-volt. It seems like a lot of $ up-front, but saves tons of $ in the long run. I don't remember what brand I bought.

I have ecotrends and rayovac and they work well in toys and wii remotes/tv remotes (ecotrends work better than rayovac). Rechargeable batteries do not work well in high drain devices (like cameras) which is why a lot of people do not like them.

I am pretty sure that all rechargeable batteries eventually loose their ability to recharge but we have had our ecotrends for about 2 years and they are still going strong. I think the rayovac ones that we have said they could be recharged 1000 times.

Eneloop. Bought them at Costco a long time ago, and they are better than any others we've tried.

We've had our energizer ones for almost a year and have never had a problem with them. We use them in our Wii remotes so they're used pretty often and haven't ran out of juice yet.

They're GREAT for awhile.

I had some LEAK and it was a MESS! The company replaced all of it but EVENTUALLY they stop recharging. :(

I bought run of the mill Rayovac rechargeable batteries at Big Lots and thought they were very reasonable. Then I learned that it took 10+ hours to recharge them. I am used to my camera's rapid recharger where it takes 3 or less so 10+ just seems like a hassle to me. I suppose it depends on your expectations.

We have both Enelope and Energizer. Enelope are far superior to Energizer! We bought ours on Amazon. We loved them so much that it wasn't long before we ordered more. We have 16 AA and 16 AAA. The only downside is that they don't exactly have C and D. They have cases for C and D, but you have to insert a AA into the case. Might be a good idea to simply purchase more AA's.

My daughter's camera uses rechargable AA batteries. We use duracel and they work well for the camera.
