Rebok Easy Tone Shoes

Hi Mamas, I wanted to see if anyone has tried the new Rebok Easy Tone shoes. It's about time for me to buy some new walking shoes and I was thinking about trying them. I know that they claim to help tone up the legs - which is always a good thing, but I've also heard that they are great for knee, ankle and shin pain. One comment I seen was that they were like walking on a cloud. I have a lot of knee pain and have to make sure that I get good shoes for walking. I have a pair of Asics now and I'm not real happy with them, can't wait for them to wear out. I've tried several other brands/types and have never found a pair that I love. The best I've had so far were some New Balance ones, but they were so ugly that I hated to wear them anywhere except for my daily walk. Not to the zoo or Six Flags where someone would see me (I know - it's vain). So I would like any comments you have on the Easy Tones or if you just have a brand that you really like and would recommend. Thanks in advance for your comments.

What can I do next?

I would like to know too if you get them. Reeboks are the only tennis shoes I wear because they are the only shoe with a decent arch support. I was thinking about getting them too. I recently broke my ankle and when I get out of this cast I plan to get a pair.

I have not tried those specifically, but they are very similar to several other brands (copycats) - MBTs are the originals ($200!), Sketchers has a version called ShapeUps ($100) and KMart has a version called called FitFlops (flipflop type) and TheraShoes ($35). I have the FitFlops and the TheraShoes.

I must say they are definitely nice for hurting knees!! They are rounded on the bottom so you stand on the middle part of your foot - so your heel hangs in the air kind of (no heel pain while standing!). I cant say they have done any toning, but I havent worn them consistently (cant at work). I will say that while I can walk beautifully and stand without pain in my hips and knees, they are not great for fast walking at all.. I had a hard time with that (definitely no running). It is also requires a little balance as you are not standing on firm ground - great for core strength, but very easy to twist your hip kind of oddly.. And be very careful on stairs and while driving! You are an inch taller and the bottoms of your feet are round so harder to tell where your heels and toes are since they dont touch the ground in normal standing.

So if you can get them cheap, or try out a cheap pair first I would say go for it (Kmarts are regularly on sale for $20 or $30, sometimes BOGO half off). For everyday walking they really help my poor feet ankles and knees. Just cant walk the dog (she pulls me and thats when I end up twisting my hip) or walk really fast like you are in a hurry. If they work out then go for the more expensive ones.

Good luck!

I don't know anything about them but to say I've been watching the Skeetchers versions and pricing...www.mypoints.com has an online deal through today where you can get 25% off the Skeetchers Shape Ups which brings them down to $74.99 w/ free shipping both ways...I don't think there will be a better deal out there this season. Hope this helps.

I have a pair and I Love, Love them. Good idea for the hubbies to get us for Christmas! They are so comfy. While I can't say that they are the most stylish shoe I have found, I like the pair I have. They fit great and have awesome support. I don't have much knee pain but my back definitely does not hurt at all after I wear them for an extended period of time. I wouldn't expect stellar results as far as toning but you will notice some. I have chicken legs though, so that may be why I noticed. I don't think you will be disappointed in the least! Happy Walking!

Please let us all know if you find out more about them. I have bad knees, need to walk and would love to try these if they work. Sorry I can't help you though.

My best gal pal has a pair of knock-off 'shocks' style shoes (like the nike ones) that she found @ wal-mart that she just melted into the floor as soon as she put them on exclaiming that they were the most comfortable shoes she's ever put on her feet. The shoes she bought were men's shoes but she & I have both found that men's shoes are MUCH more comfy than anything you can find in the women's department. She bought these last year & they are the only shoes she wears for her daily's. Good luck in your search.
