Hi Everyone-

We are in the midst of trying to sell our house and need to start looking at alternatives. Our home has been on the market for almost 60 days and we aren't getting much traffic. Our current realtor, while we love him personally, is taking a much more relaxed approach to selling our house than what we are looking for as well as other issues and so we are looking into hiring a new Realtor.

I would like to hear recommendations on Realtors as well as commission rates and any recommendations and/or cautions to be aware of. You guys have all been great and I appreciate all of your advice.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
N.

We have also been on the market trying to sell, but since November. It has been very frustrating. I am wondering, how are you going to get out of your contract with the realtor?

Hi there -- my girlfriend works with RealStar realty company and is pretty great at what she does, very attentive and goes the extra distance. Their commision rate i believe is 3.4%? maybe 3.8? which is lower than all the others i've come across. If you would like more info, msg me and i'll give you her #. She's out of naperville but like all realtors works everywhere.

Also to add like the other poster here, it's a hard market right now, hoping things do pick up,i just read existing home sales are gonig up this spring, so goodluck!!!!! :)

Hi,

We live in Elmhurst and our house has been on the market since October. We had quite a few people come and look at it during December and early Jan but not much since then. I think its just a bad time to sell - there are too many houses on the market and a lot of choice for buyers. I think you just have to be patient and wait for the right buyer to come around. Sorry can't offer more. Just make sure that you are well listed on his website and that he posts your house on newspapers every so often - not that newspapers are the best source to attract buyers. Websites are good.

Good luck. Its a frustrating process. :)
