HI Jessica...
Weight has been a battle for me my entire life. I've finally come to accept that I'll never be a size 2 or an 8 for that matter! haha. My entire family is large. HOwever, I have decided that I don't have to eat terribly fattening artery clogging foods either. I keep nothing but healthy foods in my home and currently my exercise regime consists of remodeling my house! haha.... Once the house is remodeled (we just bought it a month ago) I'll start working out in the shed with my boyfriend we have a bowflex and are going to invest in a new elliptical glider.
The MOST important thing you can do for weight loss next to eating healthily, is drink water and LOTS of it! I drink nothing but water all day long, its great I stay hydrated, my skin looks great, I feel healthier, the appetite is curbed...
It is alot harder to lose the weight when you get older... When I was in my 20's I could drop 70+ in 6 months time... but now it takes a little more work.... I started eating healthy just before hurricane Katrina. and I went in a years time, from 309 to 260.... I'm still working on it, and I lost my husband in April and jumped back up to 290... SOOOO like I said its a constant battle for me. But if you want it bad enough don't give up, your health is worth it! Keep it up!
I'm only 4'11" SO you can imagine the tax and strain its put on my health, but I seem to feel so much better with every pound lost.. AND when I do induldge in healthy food I can feel my body saying WHAT ARE YOU DOING, this stuff is NASTY! So I tend to leave it all alone most of the time now! Something I heard on a comercial when I was a kid stuck with me all these years, and it helpts too... "A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips!" lol
Take care,
K.
