Can you add a little to your subject line to let the ladies know what your question is about? Re: doesn't really help...

It would also help if you would say how old your daughter is. If she is 4 weeks old, that's far different than 8 months.

If the baby is really little, you need to get her to the doctor and get advice. She has caught your virus and she needs to be treated. Dehydration is very dangerous in a baby and you have to keep on top of it. The doctor will help you do it.

If the baby is bigger, like 8 months, call the ped's office and talk to the nurse and see if they want to see her.

Good luck.

I suggest that breast feeding and her catching the same bug you have are unrelated. She's been exposed to whatever is causing you to vomit by being in your presence.

I, too, suggest you call the advice nurse and ask.

And, it is important to know how old your baby is.

Welcome to mamapedia!!

I would say that your daughter caught the virus/bug you had.

I would NOT stop breast feeding her. You don't want her to get dehydrated. She should have at least ONE WET DIAPER every 3 hours.

How old is your daughter? If she is young and running a fever - contact your pediatrician so that you can ask any questions you might have. Make a list of questions - the nurse should be able to answer any questions and tell you if your daughter needs to be seen.

I would use clorox around the house and get rid of the bug you have...all surfaces need to be wiped down with the clorox and water mixture. Vinegar MIGHT work on the bug - not sure.

Good luck!! hope you are both feeling better soon!

It sounds like you both have a virus. Continue to breastfeed so she doesn't get dehydrated. Breastmilk digests so quickly and is super gentle on the stomach. Contact your doctor immediately if she shows any sign of getting dehydrated.
