that happened to me too. I am very slight-5"4 & 110 lbs. And I gained about 13 lbs my first trimester!!! There was nothing i can do about it, and I say the same thing to you.
Honestly, your body can't help the way it grows, and a nutritionist can't help. You need to get over it, eat what makes you feel good & satisfied, and KEEP REMEMBERING your body is growing another. You will feel better in the second & third trimester.
I lost the weight, by the way.
Arbonne has a figure8 shakes, etc that are safe for pregnancy. You can view the products at www.J..myarbonne.com clcik shop online figure8
When I was pregnant I also had nauseua problems. Try a cracker with some peanut butter on it.
I hope you feel better soon.
don't worry, you are aware and have the ability to keep your weight under control. if you gain ten pounds, or even a bit more, for each trimester you'll be right on track by the time you deliver: 30-35lb. weight gain overall.
remember, the first three months is when the baby goes through
its greatest development, so all the nutrition you give your body now helps your baby develop all the things it needs for a healthy life.
By the way, i always worked out and kept my weight around 105-110 lbs. i gained 63 pounds with my first pregnancy! and 48 with my second.
thorugh breastfeeding and going back to the gym exactly 8 wees after giving birth both times i was back to my "fighting weight" within five months of both!
i also craved weird things w/ my second pregnancy like BLT's, which I made w/ morningstar farms vegetarian bacon, and bbque.
with that pregnancy i started watching the food network and would find myself in the kitchen making whole wheat pancakes from sctratch, et.al.by the way, normally, when not under the influence of pregnancy hormones gone wild, i hate to cook! take care, M.
i work at Miami Beach Community Health Center and they have the Healthy Start program. Give one of my coworkers a call at 305=538-8835 and ask the operator for Healthy start. If not, i can refer you!
You feel good eating bread? lol I know that's a no no when you are feeling nauses. Like someone else said, try not to have your stomach empty. Snack all day but healthy stuff, an apple here, a yogurt there, a banana, high fiber cereal, etc. Stay away from fried foods, flour, etc. Do no jump out of the bed when you wake up, take a few minutes lying down awake before getting up.
You should check w/ your Midwife or doctor to see if they can recommend you someone even though I think this is something you can do. Your weight will start to slow down.
I just figured, who cares? I am pregnant! This is the one time in my life that I can be overweight and have an excuse. Sure enough, after gaining between 60 and 65 pounds with all three pregnancies, I have managed to lose it all within a year without even trying! In other words, don't sweat it! Just make sure that you are eating well, taking your Juice Plus and following the Tom Brewer diet. Research these last two and you will know why I say this...;) Congratulations!!!
Hi R.,
I was very sick during both of my pregnancies. This last pregnancy I gained weight very quickly because all I could eat was bread, rice, and cookies. Once I hit my 2nd trimester, I slowed down and stopped gaining weight so rapidly. In total I gained 26 pounds. I think you should just eat the bread and once the nausea stops, just eat what you like in moderation.
If i were you i would try to drink alot of water and try to cut back a bit on fatty stuff. I think you are only suppossed to gain 4 pounds a month for the next few months You are going to gain aloooot more so try to hold your intake of nasty food and drink lots of water!also fiber and salads are great but really just eat what you are craving...
But also remember not to watch your wieght too much though because the baby needs teh extra nutrition. I read that if you are overwieght when you begin you shouldn't gain more than 30 pounds...i know i am trying to keep it under 30 because i dont want a 9 lb baby! i figure if i try to somewhat control myself now then when shes born she can eat alllll she wants...
dont count too much though this is teh only time you can gain weight and not care! yippeee!
I don't know of any nutritionist, but I also gained over 10 lbs in the first 8-10 weeks. I started off a little under weight so I think my body needed it. You should talk to your doctor and see what he or she thinks. Your body does need carbs while you are pregnant. I hope that helps. It's stressful when you see the numbers on the scale keep getting bigger and bigger but just think that you are making a nice healthy home for your baby and the weight will come off after - believe it or not.
It is so important to control your weight. You are doing the right thing by seeking help early on in your pregnancy. I think the movie fried green tomatoes had the hormones out of whack scene. Rest assured that you are not alone at this time or or the other times in your life when you reached for food to feel good. I wonder if your local hospital has a program of healthy eating like Holy Cross in Ft. Lauderdale? High fiber foods help to eliminate the feeling of hunger and Elimination. Make your bread whole grain. Avoid fats. Try snacking on pumpkinseeds, don't laugh, they are very satisfying green unsalted chewy things. Find foods that have a calming effect on you. Slow down. Breathe. Forgive yourself if you fall off your plan and get right back on. Visit some of the sites on line that estimate your calorie needs based on height age etc. Stay positive. I had my only baby at 35 and gained lots but stayed within the range my doctor wanted and afterwards with breast feeding I lost quickly. Be a healthy happy mother. You are loved by every mother out there who knows just what you are going through.
You get the nauseaus feeling because you are letting your tummy go empty. Try snacking* all day not just when you are feeling sick.
I suffered bad "morning" sickness w/ my 1st . With my 2nd I was heading down the same path until my midwife (new one from my 1st) informed me it is because I am letting my tummy go empty and they try eating when i felt sick thus upsetting it and causing me to vomit. Once I started snacking all day I had NO morning sickness.
When i say snacking I mean fruits and veggies. I use to take with me to work cut up fruits and veggies. I would eat a handful of grapes and maybe 30 mins later eat a a piece of carrot and 30 mins later eat a few apple slices. That helped me until it was time for breakfast, lunch, dinner. another trick I did was once I started to wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom I would eat some fruit.
I did that with both pregnancies. I gained a lot in the 1st tri and slowed down in the 2nd and 3rd.
By the way, a lot of times you can me nauseaus is because you don't have enough protein in your diet. Just have meats, nuts, milk, cottage cheese, yogurt, cheese, and what ever else you like that has protein in it on hand.
