So do you have a story of a random act of kindness that was done for you?

I have a double shot related to one event and I wanted to share. Went to my local subway - I'm a semi regular, and the crew there is so nice and fun. Awesome manager, owner is cool as well (met him once). I had switched purses for the weekend and didn't realize that my card was not in my "work purse". Only enough cash for 1/2 a meal. I was gonna go, but the manager says, "no baby (she's my age LOL), don't worry about it. You're taken care of, you don't need to go). She treated me!

On top of that, while I'm rooting in my purse, the nice lady in front of me in line asks "how much do you need?"

Two random acts of kindness within 1 minute of each other.

I teared up :)

What's your story?

What can I do next?

Last year around the holidays, I was having a rough morning. I pulled into Starbucks for a coffee and the person in front of me paid for my drink! It was so sweet and really brightened my day. I had already pulled out the $5 to pay, so I gave it to the clerk.

When my youngest was a newborn I had the kids at the supermarket with me and I was holding the baby trying to unload the cart onto the checkout belt and it was difficult. A lady behind me was there with her two school age boys. She had them unload my cart, put the bags in my cart and volunteered to have them load my car. She said she had "been there before "

About 5 years ago I went shopping to my local grocery store. I didn't need much. I took my boys with me. I brought my coupons for the items I was going to buy. Went through the store with my boys and bought what we needed, nothing more.

I went to check out. My debit card wasn't working. The ATM machine wouldn't let me withdraw money as it said my debit card wasn't valid - WHAT?!?!? I didn't have my checkbook (I generally do NOT like to write checks) and I couldn't call my husband as he was on the metro on the way home...

It was $33 worth of food. The lady in line behind me asked how much it was - the cashier told her. She gave him her credit card and paid for me. I was crying. I asked for her contact information so I could repay her. She said "no, you don't need to repay me. You can pay it forward." and that's what I've been doing. Paying it forward.

I LOVE what the manager did for you!! HOW SWEET!!!

My family and I were sitting at a hamburger stand, and next to us was a man and a woman who were enjoying what looked like delicious softie cones. My son glanced over and smiled and I said, my son thinks those look good. About ten minutes later, when the couple was leaving, the guy came back around and gave my son a softie cone of his own. It was such a sweet gesture and totally made our day as well as my son's.

my story is a guardian angel story....

when my older son was 9, we had received the Bad News from his orthopedic surgeon that reconstructive surgery was the next step. I stopped at the nearest mall (before heading out of the city to our little town)....hoping to find some sweat pants/workout clothes that we could alter & insert velcro...to use with the upcoming body cast.

Sooo, I'm pushing the stroller with my infant being rowdy (good, but loud) & my son is swinging on his crutches while in his hip brace (doing what he shouldn't do). I was emotionally out of it....just totally focused on what the surgeon had just told us.

An elderly woman approached us. Reached out to my older son, laid her hands on his head & said, "Honey, it's going to be okay. I know your Momma is worried, but I know the Good Lord & you'll be fine." She introduced herself as a "life-long nanny" & was content to help children be the best they could be. Such an awe-inspiring & humbling moment....& I appreciated her prayers.

& yes, I truly believe she was our angel. :)

Mine was about a year and a half ago. July 6, 2012 I was stopped at a red light, about a 1/4 mile from the actual light. A guy in an 80's Silverado slammed into the back of me going 35 mph. He hit me with enough force to knock me into the coupe in front of me and then the coup into the F150 in front of IT. I drive a minivan.

ETA: If my minivan had not been the first vehicle hit by the Silverado (claims his brand new brakes failed) that coup would have gone UNDER the F150 and it would have been a fatality. As it was, my husband and I suffered some mild whiplash. My kids were uninjured; scared, but uninjured.

I took $4,000 worth of damage to my back end. The body shop that I took my car to happened to be a couple blocks away from the mechanic I take my car to. I had arranged a payment plan of $20/week to pay off them fixing a sensor in my transmission. That was an $800 bill. This particular day, I went in to make my payment, only to find that some anonymous stranger had paid $500 of my bill for me. The mechanic didn't know who it was, and they asked to remain anonymous. To this day the mechanic is still holding the thank you-Christmas card I got to let them know about my gratitude.

I walked back the the body shop, sat down on their couch, and just bawled. The receptionist thought something was wrong, until I told her what had just happened.

My initial thought was wow Fort Worth has a subway system lol! Yes there are kind people. One day in our local country store, three very nice young people came in. They had been sitting in traffic for two hours, were hungry and had to use the restroom. They were discussing the rest of the trip and what it would be like. I sat them down and gave them directions that would miss the 10 mile back up. They were thrilled and went on their way. I went to pay for the dinner I picked up for husband and found out they had paid.
The next day I paid it forward. Hopefully, you will do the same 😊😊

A few years back, I was living on my own. I was sick as a dog and about a dollar short at the drug store. The cashier pulled the money out of her own pocket and rang me up and told me to just go home and feel better. I will never forget that.

About 2 weeks ago my co-worker stopped at a Olive Garden and picked up a chicken salad large enough for the whole office. When she got to the office, she realized they had forgotten to put the chicken in the salad. She called and the manager reversed the charge on her credit card. And then, the following week, brought enough food for the entire office and then some for lunch!

Last year in January I finally got to get together with a couple of my girlfriends (we didn't get to get together at Christmas like we usually do) and our kids to do Christmas presents. One of the friends is my daughter's godmother and all 3 of us have 1 kid each. We went to one of those restaurants that serves breakfast all day and the kids opened their presents while we waited for our breakfast/lunch. We were a pretty big group, 3 couples and 3 kids, and someone paid for our whole table, tip and all, with just a note saying "Merry Christmas." It was so nice and sweet and random.

Some years back I was in NYC with my daughter for her appearance on Montel. She had never been there so I wanted to show her what I could of the city in a short time. I have MS and am in a wheelchair for any distance. So we met a friend and started out only to get a chair wheel stuck in a pothole in the cross walk…yep cars all around us….as I was trying to get out of the chair so my friend could get it up I felt myself being lifted chair and all and taken to the curb/sidewalk….a huge longshoreman type man who didn't stop long enough for more than my sincere thanks….

Me (7 months pregnant), my husband, and 13 month old went to waffle house and ate dinner one evening. We finished up and went to pay and waitress told us that she another family had already paid for our meal and she was to tell us "God bless!" It brought tears to my eyes that night and today just thinking about it. Now if I am in the fast food line or at Starbucks drive thru I try to always pay for the car behind me. So I can bless someone else.
