ANything you do with rice you do with quinoa... Rinse it first and then cook it like rice. ! part quinoa to 2 parts water I believe. You can also use it as hot cereal.

We just love quinoa!! The way I cook it is cook it like they say on the package (boil for 12 minutes). Then I just add lots of yummy things just like a rice or couscous salad. My favorite is to put the cooked quinoa in a big bowl and add sliced almonds, craisins, tomatoes, mozzerella cheese cubes, chunks of avocado and some olive oil and salt and pepper. Yum!!! But you can add any veggies, nuts, cheese and I'm sure it will be delicious. You could go mediterranean too with feta, tomatoes, cucumbers, fresh parsley, pine nuts. Enjoy!

Very easy. Put a cup of it in a saucepan with 1.5 cups of water and heat to a bil and then simmer for about 15 minutes. You can also use broth instead of water to give more flavor.

Once finished I like to sautee some vegetables in EVOO and garlic and then add the Quinoa. Pour in a little chicken broth and bring to a boil until it evaportes. Then use real parm.

Some people don't care for this. If you can you really should eat it ...its a 'perfect' protein.

I love Quinoa! I cook it just like I cook rice. Chop a couple of garlic cloves, quarter of an onion, sautee onion and garlic in some vegetable oil (or whatever your preference might be), add the quinoa and sautee as well. Move around constantly so it does not burn, but "brown." Add water (ratio is 2-1, two cups of water for a cup of quinoa, and so on). Let the water evaporate on high-medium heat. When water level reaches the edge of the quinoa, turn fire down to low. Let it cook covered for a few more minutes until tender. You could add some maggi cubes, or some cilantro. The taste is unbelievable! If you don't want to bother with the garlic and onion, and the sauteeing, then just add the water and the quinoa and let it cook.

Quinoa is a grain, so just use it like cous cous or rice. Follow the directions on the side of the box. I like cooking it in chicken stock instead of water as it has no strong flavor of its own. Also, epicurious.com is by far my favorite recipe site. Just type in 'quinoa' in the search engine on the site and it will come up with several recipes! Enjoy!

I did not care for it when I cooked it but it is simmilar to rice. A bit grainy for my tastes personally. But I would suggest you use chicken stock and water for the liquids and pleanty of fresh herbs as well. I understand mint is a good choice to cook it with too.

Ditto what others have said. I LOVE quinoa and cook it a lot! You can cook it/flavor it and add things (chopped veges, dried cranberries, etc) and eat it hot or toss with a light vineagrette and eat it as a salad.
Just make sure you rinse it well.

You can even do it in the rice cooker if you have one.
