If Waconia is a location you would go to, you could try The Green Room (small, quiet and great food), or Lola's Lakehouse on Lake Waconia.

A few ideas -

Ravellos in Long Lake. Under new ownership, was bought by the existing chef. We alwasy enjoyed but have not yet been back (but will) since the June ownership change. Smaller, more quaint, and more "date-like". ###-###-####. www.ravello-restaurant.com is the webiste but this does not reflect the ownership change from what I can see so I don't know if menus are accurate.

Peppercorn Grill in Long Lake. Within a block of Ravellos. We've had excellent meals there, a few special occassions, including our 9 year anniversary in June. Not as quaint but great staff and food. We have brought kids there. ###-###-####.

Biella in Wayzata - Owner of Ravello's other restaurant. We have never been there, don't know the price3s or menu or atmosphere, but plan to go some day (when we have more energy for date nights). We have heard good things.

It is a little bit further, but our favorite restraunt to go to when we are alone is Wildfire in Eden Prairie. It is located on the outside of the Eden Prairie center. It is a little more on the spendy side, but not ridiculous, especially for an anniversary. Neither one of us has ever gotten something that we didn't like.

We love to go to Axels in Loretto or Victoria House in Victoria. Sunsets in Wayzata and Bayside Grill (sit outside) are nice. Also, Ravello's is closed and being remodeled for opening in a couple weeks. I peeked in and met the owner. It will be a great place to go!
