My son was happy to show us himself every time we had an ultrasound. If you don't find out this time you can always go back in a couple weeks.
I'm going for my 20 week ultrasound tommorrow and this is my second child. I don't know why I never stressed like this with the first one but I'm so afraid we won't be able to tell what sex the baby is because maybe it won't be positioned right. We of course will be thrilled with way but I think we are both kind of hoping for a boy so we'll have one of each. I just wondered how many of you have had Ultrasounds at or around 20 weeks and NOT been able to tell what the sex was? That way I can prepare myself that maybe we won't find out or know that I'm just being silly.
IT'S A BOY!! There was no question- all the "parts" were there for the showing :)
Thanks for all your stories and support!

SO...Not to worry you more, but my first child refused to move her foot. I had multiple ultrasounds due to a problematic pregnancy and she simply wouldn't move her foot. I wanted a girl and suspected in my heart she would be a girl, but had no confirmation until she was born and the doctor said "it's not a boy..." ;-)
all my kids were shy. They kept hiding from the tech. After several trys and office visits we found out that even with them trying and guessing with what they thought they saw every one of them were wrong...my boy turned out to be a girl on both my girls ages 12 and 7. and my girl turned out to be a boy...lol now age 5. So even if you do find out the sex make sure you have a really really REALLY clear picture:).
Wishing you a healthy baby good luck with the sex of your baby.
Me personally i think its a bit early to really tell, i had both mine done around that time, i was told i was having girls with both, ended up having boys!!! Best thing do a 3d sono. my friend had one done, she was told she was having a boy, did the 3d one and guess what she was told a girl, and that is what she had (i really wish i would have done this expecially with my second one, we would have saved so much money, cause we bought everything pink, doc said surprise another boy, hubby had to run everywhere, trying to take stuff back, and get "boy" things so our son didnt have to go home in a pink carseat;) ) Good Luck and congrats on the little bundle of joy!!
We were able to tell with all 3 of my boys by the 20 week ultrasound.

Not knowing what your baby is before it's born can be pretty fun! I've opted to not know what my babies are until they are born. All I want to know is that they are healthy (I get a weird paranoia when I'm pregnant)! I know this is totally unconventional nowadays (and I've been harassed a lot over it!), but is is just so much fun!
It all started when my husband wanted to find out at the ultrasound with our first baby. He wanted a boy SO bad! It's hard to explain, but I just new in my heart it was a girl. I knew before I was pregnant I would have a girl. I dreaded the moment of disappointment on his face being told it was a girl. I just don't think any baby needs to have someone disappointed over their sex! The doctor said I had 51% of the vote during the ultrasound and I voted to not be told. My husband then said something under his breath about how he could "go get me a typewriter to replace the computer since I don't want to use modern technology". He got over it.
When that little girl was born and she was THERE in his arms after all of that wait to find out what she was, there was nothing but joy and excitement. It was so much fun that we just kept doing it. I've always had a pretty good intuition of what I was having, but the last one I was wrong on. That made it even more exciting for me!
I've been told a million times by other people that they just can't stand surprises and I respect that. I'm just telling you that it's not the end of the world if you aren't able to find out. It's actually pretty awesome! How many times in your life do you get to be told "It's a boy!" or "It's a girl!" and instantly get that baby put in your arms! Amazing!
I always purchase clothes for a boy and clothes for a girl and take them to the hospital. The shopping afterwards is just as fun as it is before hand!
Good luck! I hope everything works out for you in your ultrasound!
A.
well i had a friend who didnt find out the sex of her baby until she was 8 months!!!! They could never get the baby to open her legs!!!! But many babies are diffrent you will probably be able to tell dont worry so much!!!!! Good luck i hope you get what you want!!!!
I found out at the 20-week ultrasound definitively with both children!
They knew for sure that I was having a boy at 18 weeks. I know thats not the question, but I just wanted to throw a little optimism out there. BEST WISHES
I had the same problem with my daughter, she would never let us peek and see what sex she was. My obgyn told me to try and drink some orange juice right before my appointment. He said the sugar should get her moving around. Hope it works for you
We could tell right away, but I didn't believe the DR. I kept having dreams of an adult son. I never had a single dream about a little girl. I refused to believe she was a girl until I saw her for myself. LOL. I wanted a girl, I was ready for a girl, but just in case, I didn't want to have stories of that time told to the boy that I had been dreaming about. Best of luck to you
Have you been craving tomatoes & spagetti sauce? My latin friend says that if you have those cravings during pregnancy, you are definately having a boy!
