Quick Poll: Easter: Potatoes or Salad?

My in-laws tell me that for our Easter gathering we will be grilling ("bring whatever you want grilled") and everyone is to bring a dish to share. Should I bring potluck potatoes or a blue cheese pear salad? Silly question, yes, but I am indecisive and I am trying to make my grocery list. I have no idea what anyone else is bringing.

I will also be providing a cake and/or cupcakes.

What can I do next?

Blue cheese pear salad sounds fantastic!

And........since you don't know what anyone else is bringing, as you can see, 99% likely they will bring potatoes. You don't want to put people in the position of having to choose whoses potatoes to eat. :)

My husband loves potato salad with ham. No hot sides with ham for some reason. So this year, we are going to make extra Easter Eggs, and then make it kind of a tradition to use the easter eggs for the potato salad. You seem to be more in a time crunch than I would be at home, but you are boiling eggs (I assume) anyway right? There a lot of really good potato salad recipes out there and it's perfect for grilled dinners. I think it's a great change of pace as a side. Happy Easter!

Bleu Cheese Pear Salad sounds divine too. Let it roll!

Sorry - I'm allergic to Blue Cheese - and I love it!!! So I would bring the potatoes.

This is NOT a silly question. You like both things - so it makes sense to get someone else's opinion before you do it!!

HAVE FUN!!

I vote pear salad but then my tastes tend to off the beaten track slightly. That dish would interest me more than potatoes. Also it sounds versatile and flexible for what others may bring. Besides I think the idea of having a potato competition is a valid one. Good luck.
