Good Afternoon ladies..

I'm writing you for advice as to what type of questions should be asked of a new sitter. I will be returning to work part time in January and will begin interviewing candidates for In-Home (their home not mine) Child Care and would like suggestions as to the types of questions, I should be asking during the interviews.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Hi ladies

I would like to thank everyone for their input. I interviewed a few ladies, I made an application form w/ questions and checked all references (past and present). I only looked at people who were registered w/ Child and Family Services and I could verify inspection and compliance reports.

I found someone who began watching my son last week.

Thanks again!

R.,
i think you should do an extensive background check on the sitter.
ask for references and call on those people (ask questions such as does she miss a lot of work, is she late, has she cooked for kids, what kinds of stuff, is she CPR certified. . .)
if iw ere to get an in home care and not be in the house i'd consider getting a nanycam, just in case
good luck

Hi R., I care for children in my own home and have done so for the last 5 years. I however do not have a daycare as I ONLY care for 1 baby/child at a time. If you would like I can help you out with some questions to ask them. You are welocmed to call me. E-mail me at ____@____.com and I will give you my phone number. How many children and how long they have been doing it are a start. Also what she does with the children during the day. You also need child care references. As I said, you are welcmed to call me if you would like.

You should be asking the obvious questions, but what I would do after you hire whoever you hire, is invest in a nanny cam, that way you will know what goes on when you are not there.
