Questions About Trinity and Medicaid

Hi Mamas. I have a couple of questions related to finding a new OB. I am due in 6 weeks and am the terrible position of having to find a new OB. The one I was using in Grapevine turned into a horrible experience. She made some very inappropriate comments as well as unfounded allegations and made it impossible to continue being her patient. So...here I am at the end of my pregnancy looking for a new OB. Plus, the problem is compounded by the fact that my husband just went back to work after losing his job and his new ins. will not cover the pregnancy because it is pre-existing so I am having to use Medicaid, which I have never had before. What I need to know is if any of you have any recommendations for a great Medicaid OB that you love. Also, has one used Drs. Parosky and Lundgren (SP?) at Trinity? If so what is your feeling about them as well as delivering at Trinity? I know it's a lot of questions but I am running out of time and I am under a lot of pressure at this point. Thanks in advance for any and all information you can give me!!

What can I do next?

Hello M.,

Congrats on the new baby girl coming soon! Sorry to hear about your situation. I had gallbladder surgery at Trinity back in 1998 and the experience was great. I do not know of any OB/GYN in that area, however there is a OB/GYN in Denton that takes Medicaid. She delivers at Denton Regional Medical Center. Below you will find her contact info if interested. Best wishes and many blessings to you and your family!

I don't know anything about medicaid, but I had my daughter at Trinity this year and it was a great experience. I had my son at Plano Presby, and I can honestly say that I found Trinity to be just as good! Sure, it wasn't as pretty and fancy as Presby, but I certainly found the level of care to be equal if not superior and I was very comfortable there (and my room had a much better view too!). I used Dr Paul Meggs ###-###-####, who I loved. No idea if he takes medicaid, but he was very reasonable in his cash pricing as I was not insured.

So Sorry about your sitution but you might want to double check on the clause cause Before I got married to my ex husband I found out 2 wks prior the wedding that I was preg and started having some problems early on. I went in after we got married cause I got cover under his ins after we got married but it did say that Pregnancy is NOT a pre-exsisting condition and my entire pregnancy/prenatal care and delivery/post natal care was covered by his insurance.
I hope you will look into it. Good Luck and I hope this help. Unfortunately I don't know a OB/Gyn at Trinity but at Medical City of Dallas I LOVE and my OB/GYN is Dr Marci Oliveria and is AWESOME. Let me know if you need further details.
Blessings

I don't know about obs at Trinity, but my son's pediatrician is there. Her name is Dr. Farah Naz, and she's great! She only accepts the Amerigroup, not traditional medicaid, though. Her number is ###-###-####.

If you're willing to go to Lewisville, then there are 2 obs I know of there. I went to Dr. Tovar ###-###-####) when I had my son. I really liked his nurses, and liked him okay. I didn't have a bad experience with him, I just don't think I'll go back to him. My friend goes to Dr. Guy Van Dell (who I've heard good things about on mamasource also) in Parker Square in Flower Mound. You can google his name and find his number. I think with my next pregnancy, I will go to him, even though it's a little furthur for me. My friend really likes him, and recommended I use him for my next pregnancy. I had a great experience when I delivered at Lewisville! My husband and I also learned a lot at their birthing classes. I thought about going to Trinity because it's a little closer for me, but I liked Lewisville so much, I decided it was worth a little more driving time.

Actually, we just went through this, and I am pretty sure that pregnancy is not considered a preexisting condition. I dont think it is allowed to be...one of the few things we can thank Bill Clinton for:) So, be sure you double check that. Good luck ~A.~
