I have been TTC since January of 2007. No luck! My question is that I was very sure I was going to miss this period. My last period was Sept 14th(sorry to be blunt), and I for the last couple months have been tracting my ovulation times. This month I tracked it, and it was on the 28th that I actually ovualted. Makes sense.? Correct?! So then....On the 4th of Oct, I get my period. How does this happen? I was ten days early?????? Help. Am I missing something? I have seen my doc over the last few years about this issue, and they have found nothing wrong with me except I have a very light case of PCOS.

What can I do next?

dont know if this would work for you but it worked for me - i have been irregular since i was 15 and started to get it - but once i went on Seasonale (the birth control) where you only get your period like 1time every 3 months then i was able to get regular - it was like my body had to be without it to get it on a schedule - i know you are trying to concive so it sounds like being on the pill is a step backwards - but if it gets you on a regular cycle then it may be worth it

just a thought

Do you know for certain that you have PCOS?
There are several medications for PCOS that can help speed up the process. My doctor told me the only true way to tell if it is PCOS is through blood work and transvaginal ultralsound!!
Hope it helps!! By the way we finally conceive our miracle baby after 3 LONG years and he will be 1 in December!! Without any medications.... Not sure of your religious beiefs but we know.....God was in control!! Just needed to give it up!

Sounds like your period jumps around. Have you tried using one of those kits they sell at the store? Other than that I suggest talking with your dr. Good luck to you.

Hi - First, have you seen your doctor? Most doctors want to talk to you if you have been TTC for more than 1 year without success. According to your post, you've been trying for almost 2 years. That warrants a trip to your doctor.

Once you have ruled out problems - have you tracked how long you go between periods each month (count 1st day to 1st day)? The average is 28 days, but women can vary widely from 22 to 36 days.

If your periods come very regularly exactly 28 days apart then yes, if the 1st day of your last period was Sept 14, then you would most likely ovulate between Sept 26-30.

But, if your periods are normally about 22 days apart, as you indicated happened last month, then your most likely ovulation date would have been Sept 22. Here is a website that can help you figure it out: http://www.askdramy.com/ovulationcalc.html

To use it properly, you have to track your periods for several months and know how long your average cycle is. If you are very irregular, then this method isn't going to work very well, and you might be better off getting the ovulation strips from the drug store that measure your hormone levels each day - it costs about $20 for a month's worth.

Good luck!!
