I'm on my 4th week of P90x lean, and I haven't lost a single pound. I weigh exactly the same as I did on day one. I have about 30 lbs to lose, and I wasn't expecting miracles, but I did expect a few pounds by now. I'm not following their diet plan, or taking their supplements. I am however cutting WAY back on fat & calories, still breastfeeding, and nothing....So what the heck? I am hypothyroid, but that's under control. Please share your experiences

What can I do next?

My best friend does P90X she loves it. She follows their diet plan or something very similar. She isn't taking their supplements though. She is getting more toned and losing inches. Weight, I don't know, because muscle weighs more than fat. But she is getting skinnier. She did the P90X program but it wasn't the lean. From what I've heard they have a 90 day money back guarantee.

Px90 really relies on the diet plan too. If you're eating very little your body is probably in starvation mode and hanging on to every calorie you take in. Try to follow the eating plan at least generally. Everyone I know who've really followed px90 has lost tons of weight and gained tons of muscle.

If you're cutting back on calories, that's your issue. For P90X to work you need to eat, eat and eat. If you're breastfeeding, you need to eat.

So what do you need to do? Eat, eat, eat and eat. ;)

Are you exercising? If you cut way back on what you eat your body panics and stores more fat. It also causes your metabolism to slow. Both these things will cause weight gain sometimes but mostly little to no weight loss. There is a woman at work who is way overweight. I couldn't live on the little bit she eats, I wouldn't have the energy to move. Still in the four years I have known her she hasn't lost an ounce. I wish she had a better doctor. :(

I am not familiar with P90X but if you are not following their plan or using the supplements (I assume this is code for vitamins) then your body isn't getting the nutrients it needs and is storing what little you are giving it.

Really look at what you are eating. The eating too few calories thing people are talking about is very true. Although, my doctor told me that it can be really hard to be properly nourished and lose weight breastfeeding. Not the best news, but maybe an explanation. Also, you said you hadn't lost weight, but are your clothes looser? Are you losing inches? Maybe you are building muscle and losing fat which could explain why the scale hasn't moved.

I did P90X last year with great results. Didn't do the diet, just stopped eating all the sugary treats that I previously was. I think that I lost about a pound a week the first few weeks, then started losing about 3 a week after that. Then...amazingly after week 12 when I stopped, I kept losing weight, with no excerise. The program really changed my body a lot. I was in a size 10, and now a size 4. This was just after I stopped breast feeding, which I think may have made it easier.
If you are breastfeeding your body may want to hang onto the fat to keep up your milk supply. Just keep at it...there is no way that you can exercise that much and not be changing your body, I'm sure your results will show soon! Good Luck!

I didnt get a chance to read the other responces but I wanted to share that even though you're working out you are probably gaining mucsle. When I started working out in a gym everyday i was at 99lbs and i gained 10 lbs of mucsle. so its not really how much you loose. soooo...that could be why you havent lost wieght is bc your gaining mucsle. i hope that made since!

P90X definitely works! You have definitely received great feedback! It's very confusing when people tell you to eat more...how could that possibly work much less make sense??? Well, it does! It's a two step process though...you eat more BUT you have to eat more of the right foods. The diet is 80% of why we look the way we do good or bad. You can work out till the cows come home but if you don't change the way you eat you will get zero results. Here's my advice b/c I was in your shoes 18mo ago and now that I figured out the diet part I'm in the best shape of my life and feeling great. In my opinion Tony Horton's diet plan can be complicated for some people. I would recommed buying a book by Tosca Reno. She has several books out there, my favorite are the Eat Clean Diet Recharged and Your Best Body Now. She follows the same theory as Tony Horton except she explains it better and makes it sound easier and more doable. After reading Tosca's book the Eat Clean Diet and implementing her method while working out with P90X my body beginning changing and changing fast. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions or need food ideas, I'm happy to help. Another trick I learned was to cut out refined carbs (breads, cracker's, chips, foods with breading on them etc.)
Good luck!

Eat fat, protein and no carbs-if you eat any carbs-make sure they are the good ones.-Instead of p90x-why not take a leisurely walk-on the treadmill-I imagine it's much too hot in Texas!
