I am hoping to go back to work soon and have no idea where to start looking for daycare/childcare/nanny/whatever. Also, I'm wondering what I can expect to pay price-wise. Thanks.

What can I do next?

Playschool on McKnight & Larpenteur is a great place I had my kids (since moved) I think I paid about $130.00 weekly. Good quesitons to ask or look at are turnover rates in staff...look to see if the staff is there because they want to be and are trained to be or if they have a child and have to be there for the childcare discount. I found Playshcool to be a great place becuase it was a center so I felt safer about it and it's not a huge center or a chain center so it was still very personable and the staff was always willing to talk about your child etc...Chosing a childcare is tough because you want the best my advice is don't settle for something substandard for you and your kids. Good Luck!

Hi Venessa
I have a couple of openings at my in-home daycare. I live in St. Paul, 3 blocks south of I94 just off White Bear Ave.
Quiet street, huge private fenced in back yard. We read boks, play lots of music, lots of learning toys.

For more information please call me at ###-###-#### or email me at ____@____.com.

Thanks,

I have a WONDERFUL lady who is licensed in her home and is like a "grandma" to my kids. They learn so much and only go 3 days a week for about 4 hours a day. She's wonderful and I think she probably has openings. We pay $30 per day for 4 hours......it depends on the child's age. The $30 a day for 4 hours IS for two kids...a 2 year old and 1 year old. So its pretty cheap...she knows we struggle and gives us the Ramsey county rates. If you would like her contact info, email me at ____@____.com and I'll be glad to give it to you!

Hi V.,
I charge $125 per week for a full time child, but I KNOW I am low, so expect more than that. A center would be upwards towards $200. With an infant, I'd go more with an inhome provider, there's usually a lower ratio and a home atmosphere. Best of luck!
