As far as I've heard, BPA is only in hard clear plastic like the old baby bottles.
This website is great for checking the safety of baby products:
If there is a BPA free spoon out there, this website should have it. And as far as I am aware, all Take N Toss stuff is BPA free. I like the Take N Toss silverware just as much as the other kind. During teething I did always use a soft spoon though.
I would pitch them for peace of mind. Baby spoons aren't too expensive. Better safe than sorry : ).
Anytime plastic is scuffed up (as yours might be since they have been used) it's best to toss it. Also, plastic starts to break down. As inexpensive as baby spoons are I'd buy new ones.
I am going with all metal spoons because BPA and other chemical that leech out of plastic. Bambu make some nice Bamboo ones as well. Kinderville makes silicon stuff also.
