My husband and I are going to purchase a play set for our 21 month old. We want to buy the wooden kind. If you have one already, where did you get it and do you like it? Is it good quality wood and durable? Was it a good price?
We saw some very bad reviews of the ones they carry at Toys R Us. Most people who both them (no matter what the price range was) said the wood was very soft and not sturdy. We also need it delivered and installed and really do not want to spend over $1500 for it.

Also, if you do have one, do you kids use it often? We think she would use it but some people say its a waste of $ 'cause their children don't use the set after the newness of it has worn off. Thanks!

We bought the Sunray Premium play ground at Costco last year. I think it was about $1200, but it didn't come delivered or installed. We just had it put together over the last 2 weeks--we hired a contractor who charged us $650. My 2 year old daughter loves it, she won't even come in to eat anymore.

I have a Cedar Works set. It was pricey, but well worth the cost. My three kids play on it almost daily in the summer, fall & spring, and even use it occasionally in the winter. We did have to install it ourselves. I like Cedar Works b/c you can pick and choose the items you want; you don't have to go with a pre-designed set. They don't use any chemicals in the treatment of the wood. We have had the set for four years now, and there has been no splintering or major damage. I highly recommend them.

I have 2 kids, 2 and 5. They play on our set just about everyday. We have a wooden set, I believe from Swingsets Direct. Installation was included in the price and it is well made. We bought it in September and got a little better deal. I think it was around $1200, but don't remember exactly as it was a gift from my parents. They told us we do need to seal it every year or so. But most of it is covered with a green rubbery material that protects it. I think it is a good investment.
