I have a puppy and we got her on May 6. Her name is LuLu and she's a pomapoo She used to bit alot and recently gave me a very bloody cut. She runs around alot and doesn't follow commands. Then one day, she started to just sit there and watch us. She would sit there and stay. Or she would just sit there from a distance and watch us eat or do something. Sometimes she jumps up but thats only for treats or when she gets her food. Is this normal or am i just too worried. Please help!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thannk you guys soo much. The other puppy issue solved this puppy issue. My trainer said that it probably was because she was bored. But now she loves all her toys. Thanks soo much

Puppies biting is normal. They are teething. My puppy did it for a few months until all his puppy teeth fell out. He was only allowed to play with us or sit on our laps if he had a toy in his mouth to avoid the biting. It took about 2 days and he got it. My dog sits and stares at us all the time. Mostly it's either for attention that he wants, or he is staring at us eating. As for the jumping, the puppy shouldn't be jumping for food or treats. If the puppy jumps, say no, and wait for the dog to sit before giving the treat. We went to puppy class at PetSmart. It was more training for us than for the dog, but like kids, dogs need consistancy and reimforcements.

You and your puppy need to do a puppy obedience class together. I think this will really help you. It sounds like you need to learn more about dog training and it is also really fun to do doggy classes.

Yeah...this dog needs training. If it were a big 80 pound dog, you would not tolerate this behavior. Size doesn't matter, this is going to become a BIG problem.

Are you in any training classes with her. I would start there.

Is it normal for an untrained puppy to behave this way, sure.

Yeah, what Bug says, it is the biggest reason I hate small dogs, no one bothers to train them. Something about bloody ankles just doesn't appeal to me.

I'm assuming that LuLu is pretty young. Pups are like children - they grow and change fast. If you're concerned, call your vet. It can be hard, sometimes, to tell whether there's a injury. On the other hand, maybe LuLu has gotten tired of jumping! Or maybe your puppy training is starting to pay off.... But do call your vet for a concern like this.

my aunt has a westie and she thinks the dog is autistic. the dog will chasing it's tail and actually bite it hard enough to drawn blood. but there are other things that this dog does that are very usual too. i think dogs are like children ....everyone is just a little bit different from the next!!
