I have a 2 yr old daughter that i would like to take to a fun but cheap pumpkin patch. We took her last year but it was so expensive and she really did not understand the whole thing. This year she is little bit more understanding. Do any of your know where a good/but cheap pumpking patch is? Thank you so much!!! :0)

I also vote for the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. We took my niece (4) and my daughter (10 months) and they both had a ball. It was pretty nuts getting in and out, but hanging out in the actual patch, having a picnic under the trees at the tables, and riding the rides was awesome and totally worth the travel time and gas. Best of all, everything is free and you can bring your own food. You can't beat that anywhere in the metroplex. Everywhere else you have to pay to get in or at least buy something. Totally loved this place and will do it again next year.

I assume by expensive, you mean the price of the pumpkins...I agree that they are ridiculously high, but I also understand they need to profit.

We have been going to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch for a few years and the activities and such that they have are really fun. (same place that another mama suggested)

But I don't buy my pumpkins there - I allow my son to pick out a small one just for him, which I think run about $4, then I buy our "real" pumpkins at Walmart.

So maybe try that - visit, but buy your big pumpkins elsewhere.

Flower Mound pumpkin patch - it is free but I always buy a pumpkin since everything else is free. Go early or during the week, it gets crowded on the weekends.

A lot of people on this site have recommened www.bigorangepumpkinfarm.com - there is one in Celina and one in Richardson. I heard it costs $6 for adults. I can't wait to take my 16 mo there!

This past tuesday, my family and I went to the dallas arboretum. It has a pumpkin patch, not to mention is so beautiful to walk around. The also have free face painting, free hay bale maze, petting zoo on tues. and hayride on tues., as well. You can look admission prices up on their website, but it wasn't expensive to get in and the pumpkins are beautiful there! They are also for sale and $2, 4 and 6 a piece. Have fun!!
