Psychiatrist Needed

I have a history of depression and anxiety, and have been treated in the past with therapy and meds. I feel like I am becoming depressed again and I need to see somebody. I don't want things to get out of hand. My former therapist isn't on my insurance. Does anybody have any recommendations for a psychiatrist in the Frisco/Plano/North Dallas area?

What can I do next?

I too have a history of severe depression and anxiety and after trying out a couple of psychiatrist and therapist that were not so helpful I have found an excellent psychiatrist that I would highly recommend. Her name is Dr. Anne Andersen and her phone # is ###-###-####. She is part of Bent Tree Psychiatrics at 16800 Dallas Parkway which is at the crossstreet of Westgrove. She is awesome. She is not the type of doc that just quickly gives you meds and dismisses you or passes you off to a medicine nurse. She takes time with you to find the root of the problem, gets you on the right meds and even works some therapy into the session. She also is big on assigning home assignments of self help therapy to help you through your problems if you can't afford both a therapist and a psychiatrist, like me. She also is great about giving samples. She is genuinly caring. I have been very impressed. Good luck! I know its not easy.

Please buy and read The Gut and Psychology Syndrome by Dr. Natasha Campbell McBride. I've known many people whose lives were changed, and in reality, saved, by this information (and, of course, following the recommendations strictly).

Sincere wishes for healing,

D.

I, too deal with depression and anxiety. HANDS DOWN, the best I've found so far is Lifegate Counseling in Colleyville. It's a 40 minutes drive for me, but worth it all! These two gals, Leah and Patrice, are amazing women of God and have turned my world upside down. I wouldn't recommend anyone else.

I've been in many therapy type programs and no one compares to them!

Hi, D.-
I go to Dr. Anne Andersen at Bent Tree Psychiatric associates. She is wonderful. Her office is located at 16880 Dallas Parkway. Her office phone # is ###-###-####. If she isn't taking new patients, they have other wonderful doctors there. Be sure to take care of yourself. I have fibromyalgia and depression and she has saved my life!!!
Good luck!
Laurie
