We are cuttently trying to get pregnant so I can't be on birth contol pills. I have poly cystic ovarian syndome which can make your hormone a bit off so I do better when I'm on the pill. But my question is are any of you crazy a few days before your period. Every month I want a divorce a couple days before my period. Very odd, Help

What can I do next?

I don't have any solutions, but I can empathize. I call it "the dark night of the soul." When I'm aware that it's a few days before my period I can remind myself that the reason that I'm in a hole, that everyone hates me, that I want to move out of my house, that I suck at mothering (you name it!) is simply due to my hormones. When I don't realize it's due to timing, I might pick a fight w/my husband and later regret it. Hormones are strange things, but I'm right there with you. Realizing it while it's happening helps me immensely. Good luck!

It sounds to me like you're low in progesterone. I have very bad pms issues that start a few days after I ovulate. My doctor put me on a natural progesterone cream that is compounded at Kubats in Omaha. It's 50mg. I start using it 3 days after I ovulate. This has made a huge difference in my moods. I, too, have often considered leaving my husband during that premenstrual time. I've even made a plan as to where to go...etc.., then a few days into my period when I start to feel somewhat normal I can't understand why I was so mad.

Also, as long as you're using the progesterone cream after you ovulate, you can still get pregnant, in fact it will increase your chances of getting pregnant and not miscarrying. I'm currently pregnant. I'm on progesterone injections because my body just doesn't make enough even during pregnancy. The placenta makes it around 11 weeks, but up until now (29 weeks) my levels have been low. They are finally starting to rise, which makes me very happy.

You can buy non-prescription natural progesterone creams that are 20mg per dose. You put on a fatty area of your body twice daily for 10 days AFTER you ovulate. So, before you take it you need to know when you're ovulating. I've been charting my cycles for over 15 years so I know when this happens for me.

Good luck with this. progesterone has saved my marriage and my sanity!!!

I agree with the first post 100%. I get the same way right before my period and some months are way worse than others. I do the following:

1. Recognize that I'm feeling that way
2. Check the calendar for that time of the month
3. Forgive myself for feeling that way and realize it's a hormone thing and not that I'm a bad person
4. Try to stop and realize #1-3 before I say/do anything that i'll regret later.

Yes, I, too, am crazy a few days before my period. Everything irritates me to the point of yelling, fighting, and crying! It's better when I'm on the pill, but never really goes away! I try to stay away from any situations that might irritate me when it's that close to my period (mainly, my previous job's staff meetings!!LOL). Most things I can't avoid, but just knowing that's "it's that time of the month" calms me a little because I know how I get.
The suggestion about the progesterone cream after ovulation sounds like a good one, mostly to help with conceiving... but if it makes you feel better too, that sounds fabulous!
Good luck with getting pregnant! I've know a lot of people that have struggled with PCOS, but for them, they got pregnant just too a while longer than for most!
Also, talk to your OBGYN. They may have a nice easy solution for all of this!
Good luck!

I also have PCOS and can relate. I went off the pill over 8 years ago to become pregnant and it took 6 years before I was diagnosed with PCOS and became pregnant.

TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR! There are simple medications that may help you with your symptoms and help you become pregnant. My doctor put me on Metformin and it changed everything for me.

Good luck!
