We go to Hope Fellowship in Frisco and really like it. Here is the website if you want to check it out...hopefellowship.net
I am seeking a progressive (not just the contemporay) church in the Frisco, Colony area. I have attended Methodist and Episcopal churchs in the past. I know some of the churches are breaking off due to policitical issues. I suppose I would call myself more liberal, if that helps point me in a direction. This is a hard request, I dont want to offend anyone.

I have heard that stonebriar community church is excellent and very progressive. they are in frisco behind Strikz bowling alley.
Hello JS! I attend a wonderful church, but it's in the Los Colinas area. People drive from all over. Irving Bible Church. You can go to http://www.irvingbible.org/ It's off 635 @ Beltline. (Taking 190/George Bush makes it pretty convenient)
To me it's all about the minister and Pastor Andy is the BEST! I'm from Northern California -- much more liberal as you can imagine. This is a Bible teaching church that always has a message that is so relevant. The interior of the church reminds me of a Starbucks. I've wanted to move closer to my home in Flower Mound, but I can't seem to leave. I've also heard Stonebriar is good, but I'm not sure how progressive/liberal it it is.
Best of luck! And if anyone is offended, you wouldn't want to go to their church anyway. ;o)

It changed my life, and my daughter loves it! (she's only 3)
I attend First Baptist, The Colony and I highly recommend it. We are very progressive with a dynamic, contemporary service at 10:30am. You may not be looking too far ahead with your daughter but we have fantastic preschool activites also. Starting at 3, she can be in choir, join Mission Friends, and join AWANA. please email me if you have any questions. also, my husband and I teach one of the marries couples sunday school classes and we'd love to meet you. hope to hear from you. ____@____.com "baptists" a chance--you'll probably be very surprised--actually that's what most people say.
With all the responses you have gotten I'm don't know if this will be any help BUT I went to Preston Ridge Baptist in Frisco because I was invited, and loved it! I am not a member and I'm honestly just busy with my 1 year old to get out the door on Sunday to return. It was really great...lots of singing, and the pastor, Gerald, is very funny...he doesn't just read scripture he tells personal stories and does video clips etc. Anyway, I loved it and I would definately recommend just giving it a try. PS>>> they have child care available and the woman are wonderful!
try first united methodist - the colony - they have a 9:45 am contemporary service - you may like it...we go sometimes - usually the traditional at 11 though - only due to schedules at home....
good luck!

Hi
My family and I attend Celebration Covenant Centre(CCC) in Frisco. It is wonderful. check it out at www.celebrationcovenant.com
I am an Episcopal and of the more liberal slant here in Plano. We are going to a great church in Mckinney. It is St. Peter's in Mckinney. There are tons of kids there and has lots of outreach opportunities as well.

Hi ,
We go to Irving Bible church. We moved here 5 months ago, and went there because it's very close to our house. We read the website before we went, and were not so sure it would be "our" church because it's soooooo big. I'm from the netherlands, and there most people don't believe. So a church with 600 people is extreme big overthere. We went the first time with mixed feelings, but we haven't missed one service since that time. It was the best seremon we heard in years, real close to the bible. We think the lights and projected pictures are a bit like a show. But maybe that's what you mean by progressive? The child care is very professional, our 4,5 year and 2,5 year love it. (the baby can't talk yet...) They even have a "cry room". You can take your young baby there if he starts crying during the seremon, and there's a tv so you can still follow everything!!!! Maybe that's a normal thing here in Texas, but we hadn't ever heard about something like that, and it's perfect.
You should give it a try. We did, and it was worth it. We go to the 9.00 am service.
Also i've heard good things about the fellowship church near grapevine mall.
Good luck, and hope to see you!
I.
Good luck
