Progesterone Kick-Start

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has taken progesterone to "kick start" their period. I didn't ovulate this month (I know 1 missed ovulation is normal), but my nurse said if it didn't start by day 45 of my cycle (it is now day 42) we could use progesterone to start it. I do have thyroid issues but know they are under control. Just wondering if anyone has done this as a one time thing and what the experience, and results were like during and after. We would do this in hopes of conceiving.

What can I do next?

I have used Wild Yam cream, as a natural precursor to progesterone, for other mild hormonal issues with great success (got it from my Chiropractor).

I just started with two herbal supplements for the Thyroid (one liquid, one capsules) as my body temps were in the 96. instead of 98. ranges. I also stopped my loved Soy French Vanilla creamer for my coffee to see if my health jumpstarts. It has only been a couple days, but I think I may have lost 4 pounds, and my energy and focus are improving!

If you study Contraceptives, you may find Soy and Green Peas, etc to be natural contraceptives, so you can avoid those things you might not realize keep you from conceiving. Foods are powerful - I had friends that drank Red Raspberry tea and changed their cycles from every other month (one every six months!) to monthly.

I have used progesterone to start a period. I have thyroid issues as well! I took the progesterone and I started just a few days later. It was a heavier period then normal. I have to admit, I rarely have regular periods. Progesterone got me good and ready to get pregnant with my son, as well as my current pregnancy!

Good luck!

I dont know about fertility issues but I can tell you it really helped with my period stuff. Also it helps with your thyroid issues. I was just told last week that progesterone keeps your thyroid regulated. You can try two sources for education: www.hystersisters.com... The reason why I gave this website to you is because there is a ton of educational material on progesterone and how it works and what the symptoms are for too much progesterone too.
The other book you should read is by Uzzi Reiss MD. He goes into how important it is to have progesterone in the body at any age.
I live in Cool if you need to talk on the phone. I had two sister in laws that went through MAJOR fertility issues.

Sincerely
Micki

I was having irregular periods during my freshman year of college. The solution was to put me on the pill, but first my gynecologist gave me one or two doses of a hormone - probably progesterone, though I don't recall exactly right now - to trigger a period. It worked without any problems.

Hello,

I had issues getting pregnant with my daughter and ended up using clomid. One of the months I didn't ovulate and instead of giving me progesterone, my doctor had me take the birth control pill for 3 weeks to get my body going again.

Hope that helps. :)
